  Overall, check-in process was very easy. A little hiccup with the initial door code but Vincent was very responsive and fixed the issue right away. The included kitchen items helped a lot to have family dinners at the unit and it was a good place for resting between excursions. Air conditioning units worked fantastic. There were minor issues with the toilet lever we were overall very satisfied and would recommend this unit.

  Perfect spot! The unit is even nicer (and larger) than it looks in the photos. Super clean. Well equipped. Beautiful view. Absolutely no complaints. Nice building (great local ice cream shop!!), clean, lots of resources. Covered, secured parking was icing on the cake. Paul was always available...but never needed. Would definitely stay here again!

  We love this area of Waikiki and chose this property mostly for the location... WHAT A GEM WE FOUND!!! This property was fully furnished with QUALITY furniture, items and very clean too! Everything in the kitchen (frig, ice maker, stove, microwave, plates, glasses, pots/pans, coffee maker, utensils, bowls etc.) were solid. Sheets, towels, blankets etc were very clean. Unit included some beach chairs and boogie boards. View from large lanai that had lots of guest seating was breathtaking. Parking space included was a huge bonus too!
  
  One comment - there is no washer/dryer in the unit. While we did know that up front, it was quite inconvenient because we were staying for 2 weeks. I felt the property should have considered providing a second set of clean towels (the ONLY thing that I had requested!) at the end of the first week.
  
  Otherwise, everything else was pretty wonderful!

Not all units have washer/dryers and was stated in our description that Coin-Op Laundry Facilities are on each floor. As a vacation rental is not a full-service resort hotel, and we do not have on-site housekeeping staff, we are not able to offer amenities that a resort hotel would typically offer, such as daily housekeeping, linen service, or replenishment of your start-up supplies. This is an industry standard and one of the basic differences between a vacation rental condo vs. a full-service hotel room stay. I will pass your feedback onto the team, and we look forward to your next visit!

  We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite overlooking the Marina. It was perfect! There was a lot of space for 4. Towels, boogie boards and beach chairs were available. The suite was close to everything and it also came with parking which is a plus!! I love staying here and would continue to book through captain cook! Mahalo!!

  Beautiful 2 bedroom condo and very spacious and great view - Loved the great location near Ala Moana Park and Shopping Center. Close to all our favorite eating places, especially Wailoa Store for the best shave ice in the world!! Make sure to make reservations ahead of time if you want to eat at Katsumidori Sushi, Ginza Bairin Tonkatsu or MW Restaurant. If you want to eat at Tonkatsu Tamafuji, you may have to make reservations 3 months in advance. Just sad to have to leave Oahu to come home to cold weather.

  Absolutely loved our stay. The place was beautiful, well maintained and the location was perfect. The communication was excellent. The view of the harbor was beautiful. There is a public beach next door that is a man made pond. It’s sandy and perfect for kids. You can rent or buy water toys there. It’s sandy vs the rocky beach. It was a bit confusing to find because it’s within a Hotel. Once we figured it out parking was a breeze. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back if we visit Hawaii again.

  We enjoyed our stay overall. The place could use a facelift, vents need cleaning. Cooking supplies are chintzy considering the price for the condo. Still liked the place.

  It was an excellent stay. The bedrooms/bathrooms are separated by the common area for good privacy. The kitchen was well equipped and functional. The view is outstanding and the parking place was a definite plus.

  The beautiful condo (Ilikai #1239) was even better than the pictures! The view over the Kewalo Harbor was beautiful with radiant sunsets every evening. The condo was well equipped with sufficient cooking and serving utensils. There was plenty of closet and storage space. Both bedrooms had adequate space and privacy, with access to the large lanai. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The interior living space and seating were adequate for four adults and the TV and WIFI systems both functioned well. Expansive ocean views, magnificent sunsets, people watching in the harbor and on the Ilikai outdoor deck. Our unit included parking and that was very convenient and saved us a lot of money. The Ilikai condo/hotel provided outdoor entertainment twice a week (live Hawaiian music and hula dancing and live music and dancing). The condo was quiet at night.
  The amenities at the Ilikai were fine. The one exception was the pool area. There are two pools. A wading/lounging pool and a regular swimming pool. Both pools in our estimation are not big enough to accommodate the number of guests/rooms in the building. We could see this as a potential issue if you came expecting a luxurious pool setting.
  Finally, the property is managed by the Captain Cook Realty and out interaction with them could not have been better. After finding this property on VRBO, we dealt exclusively with Cpt Cook Realty, and it was a pleasure. From the outset, the office staff was knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. Once we arrived, we had an assigned property manager (Paul) who was exceptionally responsive and helpful getting us checked in and settled into the condo. Initially, we had one small maintenance issue and Paul came within the hour to get it right. If you decide to rent this property (or any in Waikiki) we would recommend you go directly to Captain Cook Realty.
  Start to finish this was a great trip and a wonderful stay at a fine property.

  Awesome location which is right in the middle of great shopping and eatery areas. My only complaint is they need to replenish shampoos, conditioners, soaps and toiletries. It just saves us from having to make an extra trip. The rental is so expensive already. Why not give us that? Doesn’t cost you that much buying in bulk! Sofa bed needs to be replaced. Mattress died. ��

  We spend 7 nights here and it's totally worth it. It accommodate the 5 of us (2 adults, 3 young kids) well. The view is spectacular. We were able to catch a decent sunset on the evening that we arrived. If the weather was better, we would have had great sunsets to watch every evening.
  
  Paul was very accommodating. We appreciate that he went out of his way to purchase a mini cooler for us to use. I asked if there was one and if not, he did not need to go buy one. But he did anyway! Awesome service!
  
  Only thing I wish the unit would have is some plastic cups/plates. We have 3 little ones and we're always on edge when they use the ceramic plates/cups and glass cups. This would be nice for those who have young ones, but definitely not a deal breaker. We would definitely rent this unit again if we come back to Oahu.

  The condo was clean and the rooms were spacious. It has two bathrooms which makes it convenient for everybody. The two rooms has sliding doors leading to the balcony. We watched the sunset almost every evening. I just have a suggestion to provide more pillowcases for the extra pillows and the toilet bowl in master bedroom sometimes won’t flush so we have to fix it. Overall, the experience was great!

  Overall a wonderful experience for a family of 5 as we need a 2BR/2BA. Rental was very clean and well-maintained (only complaint was the refrigerator hinged seal would not close on its own...have to adjust track (vertical mullion)every time you try to close it. Note: the on-site fitness room is not available... only to Aston Resorts guests.) Took full advantage of the views from the lanai, enjoyed coffee and breakfast there too. Great location, views, easy access to beach and nearby restaurants and shopping. We appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards!
  As for check-out, only glitch was the cleaner showed up an hour early,
  Highly recommend Ocean Joy if you love dolphins and snorkeling (NW Coast) and Diamond Head Cruises to snorkel with sea turtles. Hikes we enjoyed were Aiea Loop Trail (easy 5 miles) and Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail (5 miles intermediate) for the most beautiful views (at summit see Kaulua and Lanikai, Waikiki, Koko Crater, and Diamond Head. Ziplining (another fav) with Climbworks is amazing!!!

  This unit 1239 was perfect for the most part. Plenty of space, plenty of supplies, comfort and a view that is picturesque. Would definitely stay here again. The only complaint that is no fault if the is the thin walls. Neighbors on the twin bedroom side were up all hours of the night talking and high pitch giggling. I can’t be mad at them for being happy but please realize hours of quiet time. Finally after three nights I had enough and banged on the wall. Finally silence. All enmities were available (blender, rice cooker and tons of kitchen supplies). Even had a bidet toilet with heated seats (it was interesting to try). Paul was a great property manager.

  We had booked a 2 month vacation rental unit in Oahu with Captain Cook. After about 3 weeks into the stay, there were some water leakage issues and the unit became damaged and not livable. Image our stress! We are on an island for 2 months and suddenly no place to live with 2 kids. I have to say Captain Cook provided us the best customer service. Our dealing was with Petra, and she was patient and provided us reasonable options that would work for our family and needs to move us to a different unit. She was prompt in responding and made things happen:) After making a couple moves, she found us a unit that is beautiful! During this time, we were put up in Illkai #129 and I have to say, it was great! The location is perfect to everything and the beach, the unit was well kept. The only downside to this unit (which may not matter to others) was not having a washer/dryer in the unit (since we were staying for 2 months, we needed that). Other that than that, can't say enough good things about the unit and Captain Cook!

  This was a perfect place to stay in Honolulu. The location was great, the views of the water and marina were wonderful, the condo was spotless, and nothing looked dated or old. Paul, from the management company, met us and was as nice as could be. He showed us our parking spot, and took us upstairs to our condo. I got the sense they had it together. I would not hesitate to recommend this condo, and would be happy to return - after this corona virus dies down.

  I wanted get in touch at check-out, but the phone didn't answer and the hotel advised me to go to the security. I had to go to the airport, so I ran around the hotel and I was impatient. So you should better to stay connect 24 hours a day.

  Stayed for 4 days. The place was ready when we arrived. Great View. Management was great & helpful. They checked on us to make sure everything was going well. They supplied us with kitchen supplies. You can cook if you want. Apart from having issue with the A/C in the master bedroom, everything else was great.
  Overall, the place was amazing. It looks exactly like the pictures. I would recommend Captain Cook Real Estate. Thank for having us

  We stayed at Ilikai #1239 with 4 adults and 1 toddler. There was plenty of space for all. This unit is very clean, well equipped, beautifully decorated and the views are heavenly! The bedrooms were comfortable and private. Having two bathrooms was perfect for us. The property management representative was friendly and helped us secure the safety locks to the lanai doors to keep our little one safe. We hope to be back for another stay in this lovely unit.

  Rented this condo for our first trip to Hawaii. Really wanted the two separate bedrooms and two separate baths.
  
  We were extremely pleased with the condo. While the building is old - completed in I think 1964 - the condo is practically brand new. New fixtures, new kitchen, new baths, new furniture - it has 3 AC units; really a nice place with a HUGE porch, outside table and chairs, etc.
  
  If you want a LOT of room and a great facility, this is an excellent choice.
  
  It is not, in my opinion, on Wikiki beach - it's next to it. The buildings next door are the Hilton Hawaiian Village, so it's very, very close, within walking distance if you are willing to walk a few blocks.
  
  Also (as disclosed on the condo advertising), this unit has a harbor/marina view, so you can see the boats at anchor, you can see the ships entering and leaving Honolulu harbor (which is pretty cool), and you can see the open ocean, but you can't really see the beach. So if you "must" see the beach outside your window, this isn't the prefect location (you need to be on the other side of the Ilikai).
  
  This is an excellent set up if you have a car (which I highly recommend - we drove somewhere every day and unless you're just going to go lay on the beach, I strongly recommend getting a car). It comes with a reserved parking space, easy to get to the car, easy to park, just a good overall set up.

  What a great place to stay during a vacation to Oahu.The location of this property was great, it was clean and included everything we needed. The property managers were fabulous to deal with. The property came with a parking stall included which was very helpful since we had rented a car for the week. The only thing that seemed to be an issue was the master bathroom had very little airflow coming into it. You had to leave the slider door open or it was just too hot in there. Other than that everything was wonderful.

  Great place and location. Chose the location for the fireworks show but realized that is was on the other side of the building, but did get to see the tail end while on the marina.   The accommodations are as described. It is an older building but the condo is newly remodeled. Very clean with the basic necessities as well as beach chairs and towels. Laundry facilities on the same floor. The building has a restaurant, small market and an ice cream shop on the lobby level. Paul, the rental manager, was quick and helpful when we arrived. Parking was a secure parking garage. There is easy access to a nice lagoon where the kids can play in the water, easy access to the beach and beach walk along the ocean to get to restaurants and shopping. Parking downtown is difficult and expensive. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the shopping area via streets or beach walk. Castaways had good food (dinner and breakfast). We also ate at Duke's and Yardhouse both of which had good food. Dukes's is located on the beach and very busy. Recommend going early (5-6pm) or making reservations if you want to eat in the dining room.

  The condo was very clean and had everything you needed.   Our family of six loved staying at Ilikai. From the moment you walk in the lobby and downstairs foyer is luxurious and tropical. The staff were very helpful and friendly especially the Concierge staff who provided us with maps, showed us places to go, organised our wonderful experience at Germaine’s Luau and booked the lovely Sansei Japanese Restaurant For the Happy Hour on our final night.
  Apartment #1239 was perfect for our family. It had the most wonderful view, a large lanai or verandah to enjoy it with comfortable chairs, lounge chairs and even beach chairs and boogie boards supplied for the lagoon and beach located a shirt walk away. Our apartment was stylish and comfortable with lovely decor and great cooking facilities. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of storage space and air conditioning.
  The apartment was in a convenient location- a short stroll to pool, lagoon and beach, bar and Ala Moana shopping village. It had its own parking space and car rentals could be organised from the hotel.
  The Captain Cook staff were great -very informative and helpful with their emails
  and our property manager was also.
  Overall we had a fantastic experience at Ilikai and would highly recommend to family and friends.

  Traveling with two teen boys - having our own space was really nice. Right around the corner from iconic Waikiki beach - EASY walk. Having the parking spot, onsite store made things very easy. Would have liked a little card or book on amenities and little details on where to take out trash etc as we have had in some other places - or maybe I missed it. But overall worked well for us.

  My family and I stayed in this condo for nine days and were really impressed. It had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the three separate air conditioners kept us cool. The management was always available and very helpful, even arranged for a late check out due to our late departing flight. We will definitely stay in this condo again. Aloha!

  Wonderful stay. Well equipped and clean condo. Great location, not as busy as further down the beach but still easy access to everything. The Captain Cook company was extremely professional and easy to deal with, received a lot of emails with tips on managing our vacation and everything went as planned. Paul, the property manager, was amazing and accommodated in every way possible. We had a very late flight and this condo was already booked but he went above and beyond to let us have access to another unit in the building for the day.   Excellent choice. Beautiful luxury condo in the heart of Waikiki. Perfect for a family of six with a rental vehicle. Parking in Waikiki is very difficult and hotels will rip you off. Spectacular sunset view. Granite counter top, stainless steel appliances. First class accommodation. Paul Tucker did a great job showing us the property. We will definitely come back! Mahalo!

  This was our first visit to Hawaii. The rental was clean, in a great location, and we had beautiful views from the balcony. The kitchen had all the basics. The beds were not the most comfortable. We never met our property manager in person and only communicated via phone and text. We would have preferred to have someone meet us in person as first timers and maybe even check in on us at some point. The rooms had great a/c however the hallways and elevators were stiflingly hot. Not a reflection on the rental itself but the Ilikai in general. The person in the lobby told us incorrect pool hours so our kids were a little disappointed when the pool closed at 6pm instead of 8pm like we were told. We received a 'welcome letter' type email on the last day of our stay. It would have been nice to get that upon arrival, not close to checkout. Given the cost, it fell short of our expectations however the condo itself was fine.

  We had a wonderful time in this condo! We had absolutely everything we needed for a great stay, including tons of towels, beach gear, a kitchen with all the equipment we needed and of course the who could forget toto washlets!
  
  Check in was a breeze, and Paul our property manager was available for any questions we had.
  
  The location was fantastic - few minutes walk to the lagoon and Fort DeRussy beach, and about a 15 minute walk into Waikiki proper or the Ala Moana Center. There were also a ton of places to eat in the immediate vicinity and a bus stop available right outside.
  
  The sunset views from the lanai were incredible.
  
  I would not hesitate to stay in this apartment again - we had a brilliant time!

  The apartment we rented for 10 days was really lovely. Plenty of room for us. great to have 2 bathrooms. View from balcony was superb. Walked to Ala Moana shopping center and through to Walmart. Circle bus was really great and for $2.00 used it every day to get to Waikiki and other places. Would definitely stay there again.

  What a fabulous place to stay very central to everything. It was easy to pick up tour buses right out the front. Restaurants everywhere not a far walk. You can walk to Ala Moana shopping centre only 10minutes. We didn't hire a car as it wasn't really needed but on one day we hired a mustang convertible from just across the road near McDonald's . A little disappointed that our son wasn't allowed to use a light weight frisbee in pool that they sold in there gift shop. The Internet was disappointing very slow or didn't work at all. But overall we would definitely stay here again. There was 6 of us and we had plenty of room. Also the pictures you see on Internet is exactly what you get.

  This spacious two-bedroom condo just fitted in my family. There was nothing unconfortable during our 5 nights stay. Free designated onsite parking was a real big bonus.

  condo was very clean and well equipped. The only negative thing to be said is that for the quality of everything else.....why not put some comfortable beds in....even memory form mattress toppers would help. All three of us had very sore backs from staying here!!!

Because bed comfort is subjective and knowing these beds were just purchased in February 2015, we reviewed past reviews and didn't find any other issues with bed comfort.   The apartment was even better than the pictures. We loved the balcony sunsets, and the high quality amenities in the apartment. The sofa bed was also very comfortable. Super clean and comfortable, with a great location, could not have wished for a better base for our holiday. Captain Cook staff were so helpful and attentive. We will be back!

  I would recommend this rental property to everyone. It's beautiful with a nice view. The location is a walking distance from every where..shopings,beaches,restaurants...I'm planing to go back in a couple of year with family again and would to stay at this location again..

  We have stayed in two other condos at the Ilikai, and this was by far the nicest -- completely remodeled and included basic supplies. The double lanai provided a great view of the harbor and ample room for everyone. The staff at Captain Cook Resorts were very friendly and accommodating.

  Property was as described. Overlooking the harbor and a great view of the sunset. Paul, with the local management company, was prompt and great to work with and checkin/out was easy. Unit does not have a washer-dryer which would have been nice (and we knew this going into the unit) but there was one on the floor. Very happy with the unit and would recommend to friends and family.

  As first time visitors to Hawaii we were very green on where to stay.... we luckily chose he Ilikai #1239 and couldn't have asked for better!! Was very clean tidy and comfortable plus the location was centrally located so could walk to wherever we wanted to go. Would recommend 100% and would definitely look at staying again in the near future.
  The only negative was we had to pay a HUGE amount of money to secure the late checkout for 6pm as our flight didn't leave till 10pm

It's true that because we have such a constant turnover, the only way to GUARANTEE a late check-out is by reserving the unit an additional day.   We were very happy to have such a clean place with a beautiful view. Paul was great helping us settle in. We were in walking distance to everything. I've never booked with vrbo but happy that I did. We were not disappointed.

  As a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers), the apartment was just right for us. The view was fantastic, the apartment had all the necessary inclusions for our needs and was presented in pristine condition. The beach chairs and beach umbrella were very welcome inclusions, which helped make our days on Waikiki beach (just a 2 minute walk from the main lobby) very comfortable. Captain Cook Resorts were very helpful & professional right from the moment we first enquired about the apartment, through to the moment of our arrival (which was hassle free thanks to the property manager Paul). There were no hidden unwelcome surprises, everything was just as was described. Ilikai was within an easy 5 minute walk of Ala Moana shopping centre, and a comfortable 10 minute walk to the bright lights of downtown Waikiki. Parking was very helpful when it was needed. All in all, a great experience, highly recommended.

  I wouldn't know where to start. We had a fabulous experience with our stay. Everyone with captain cook is super helpful and friendly. It was my first stay at condominium and they answer every question I had.
  
  After we got our rental car, we called the property manager Paul, who was very friendly and prompt. We met him at the hotel and he directed us to the parking and escorted us to the room. He was helpful and informative, gave us recommendations on restaurants etc...
  The room was very clean as it was recently remodeled. It has pretty much everything you need except chopsticks (I am asian!) and washer/dryer, which can be found on the same floor. ( $2.50 each)
  I was at first disappointed at not having a ocean front view. But The harbor view was actually very nice. During the day, you enjoy the blue sky and the blue ocean and at night you enjoy the city lights.
  We were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids. Having a nice size kitchen was great when cooking quick breakfast each morning.
  Only complaint I could think of may be the distance from the elevator since the room is all the way down the hallway. But not a big deal.
  
  We drove to nearby Walmart to get our 5 day supply but realized it wasn't necessary because there are ABC store every where and they have pretty much everything you need for short stay. (grocery, souvenir, bathroom stuff, diapers, baby food etc...) We never walked to the beach but it seems to be a little bit walk from the hotel. You can walk to the hilton's lagoon which is open to public.
  
  I would not recommend this to friend because I wanna keep this place a secret to myself! If we are coming back to waikiki, I would stay here again.
  
  P.S. Thank you Wendy and Captain Cook for finding our baby's blanket and mail it back to us! This means a lot. Keep your good work :)
