Beautiful place with excellent views
Mercer Island, US, January 4, 2026 December 2025に7泊滞在One of the nicest places we’ve stayed in with a perfect view of the Friday evening fireworks. Had an issue with a clogged shower head but management had it fixed in a day. Free parking is a huge plus. I would stay there again.

3世代ハワイ旅行
Nakano, Japan, September 8, 2025 August 2025に3泊滞在家族3世代で利用しました。子供や年配の家族がいるため移動は大変でしたが、このホテルでは ビーチを眺めながらの朝食、ヒルトンの花火観賞、フラ鑑賞 といったアクティビティを、無理なく、しかも無料で楽しめたのがとても良かったです。コスパが高いと感じました。
特に景色が素晴らしく、広いビーチを一望できるプライベートな空間で毎日朝食をとる時間は最高でした。ヒルトンの花火はまるでVIP席のような眺めで楽しめ、花火前には1階のコートヤードで無料のフラショーもあり、こちらも満足度が高かったです。
利便性も抜群 です。

December getaway
WEST RICHLAND, United States, December 28, 2024 December 2024に7泊滞在Ocean views were amazing. Lanai was big enough for everyone to watch the Friday night firework show. Close to a beach that's not crowded. Enough space for 5 people. Unit was clean but could use some furniture upgrades (throw pillow ripped and some stains in the couch). Away from hassle of waikiki activities, but that's what we were looking for. Easy access to get on H1 Freeway or Nimitz hwy.

A great location for an Oahu stay

You book this location for two main reasons - the view and it comes with a reserved parking spot. The photos are accurate - though the renovations to this condo are several years old, it has held up well. The only downside to the Ilikai is the elevators are constantly packed with folks - but you get over that pretty quickly. Without hesitation, we'd stay here again.

Pros - view is amazing! Fireworks show at 8pm on Fridays best seats on the balcony. Short 5-7min walk to the beach. Two pools, never crowded, plenty of seats. Pics are accurate of condo - it’s gorgeous. Beds comfortable, plenty of towels. About 5-6 beach towels(thin). 5 beach chairs, boogie board, inner tube, volleyballs, & tons of beach toys. A/C worked great. Kitchen was well stocked. No condiments, I bought salt and pepper shakers and left them there. Also, no cookie sheets. Beach is gorgeous but is rocky - we used water shoes. Location is perfect, in the middle of everything. Tons of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Lobby has a market that stays open until 11pm and has groceries! Dedicated parking spot.
Cons - weird dynamic for second bedroom. Can’t access the bedroom if someone is using the bathroom attached to that room, have to use the balcony door to get in and out. Also, washer and dryer are in the closet of the second bedroom, so closet is not usable to hang clothes. My kids were in that bedroom so it didn’t matter but if adults are staying in there that sound and inconvenience might be bothersome.
I would definitely rent this condo again. Jean was awesome and super responsive, so helpful. It was perfect for our family of 4, one of the best vacations we have had!Response from Captain Cook Resorts

Ilikai Vacation
Houston, United States, July 22, 2024 July 2024に4泊滞在The location of the property is amazing, right in the middle of everything. The view from the balcony is a beautiful view of the marina and ocean. We were able to watch the Friday night fireworks from the balcony. The unit itself could use a new coat of paint, as it’s looking a bit worn. The beds were comfortable. The outdoor furniture has seen better days. It’s functional, but definitely been used a lot. We were disappointed not to find any board or card games in the unit. Overall a good place to stay with a central location and beautiful ocean views.

One of the reasons we picked it was because it said no smoking. Also all the doors made noise and the sliders to the balcony opened really hard. We purchased a can of WD 40 and oiled all and they work perfectly now for your next renters. The owners might want to sew the pillows on the couch for the next renters, as they had rips in them when we arrived. But overall it is a very cute place with a great view. Thank you very much.

We never met Jean during our stay, but he was always on the spot with everything we needed upon arriving. A beautiful unit with fantastic views. The Hilton fireworks from the lanai were awesome. The sunrise from the lagoon and sea wall were stunning. About a 10 min walk to the main strip in Waikiki.

What a view

Chairs, umbrellas, beach towels,snorkeling equipment were provided. A dedicated parking place was an advantage. Opportunities for improvement: please update furniture; an old chair broke while my husband was sitting on it. Please fix sliding door in Master bedroom as noted in previous reviews. We had very little hot water for bathing most days. Over all, these small fixes could entice us to return.

Best Location!
TUCSON, US, December 21, 2022 December 2022に5泊滞在We're glad we choose Iiikai #744. It was just as the pictures appear. Very clean an updated. Beds were confortable. The air conditioner unit didn't work when we go there. Property Mgr scheduled someone the next day, but then it started to work. The last day of our weeks stay it stopped again. But overall, we would highly recommend! But bring you own coffee filters.

Lovely apartment with stunning sunset views

Although one of the older buildings in Waikiki, the whole complex is well maintained and the apartment was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for our family of 5 adults. It was well equipped with kitchen equipment, towels, basic essentials like toilets rolls and lots of beach accessories. The Ilikai is located in a fairly quiet area of Waikiki but has options to eat in the complex and nearby and is within easy walking distance of the Ala Moana shopping centre and the main Waikiki buzz. The apartment has great views over the lagoon and marina and the front balcony was great to watch the stunning sunsets as well as the Friday evening fireworks at the Hilton next door. Communication with Captain Cooks was very easy and the app had lots of useful information. I would definitely recommend this apartment and Captain Cook rentals to family or friends.

Excellence in service, location and relaxation

The proximity to the lagoon, included beach supplies and towels worked well and it was fun to take a dip in the warm pool that wasn’t overcrowded or loud like neighboring pools.

The TV was a little difficult to operate . It had 5 remote controls. We had to clean coffee table of some sticky residue on the surface. But everything else was very clean. The communication with management. The view from balcony was great. Stores close by made it convenient

Nice but hated the elevator
Vancouver, US, February 11, 2022 February 2022に5泊滞在Loved the view but the elevator was a hassle and even with 5 elevators there you end up having to wait for a bit just get an empty elevator since I was traveling with my children. The rice cooker was also not working but that was fine.
For some reason I was not fond of the Japanese toilets in the bathrooms. Bit other than that it was great and I’ll consider rebooking with the same company and our person Paul was very informative.Response from Captain Cook Resorts

Fantastic Location and Great Amenities

The unit was clean and the host was incredibly responsive. Perhaps one of the best features of the until is that parking was included. This was a huge money saver since we has a rental car. The only inconvenience during the trip were the long lines and wait times for the elevators, but since the Ilikai is an older, charming building, I suppose this was to be expected.Response from Captain Cook Resorts

A wonderful vacation rental

The guest portal had lots of useful information so make sure you check it. We like to explore the island so we always have a rental car and the included parking makes getting back to the unit a breeze. Great view of the ocean, beach, lagoon, and harbor. The mall and it's food courts are nearby as well as Ala Moana park. It's a convenient walk to the Beach Walk area or Kalakaua shops and Waikiki beach. Sitting on the lanai and enjoying the view or sunset was fantastic.

The pictures accurately represent the property, but the pictures do not capture the complete beauty of the views. Every morning and sunset were perfect, especially from the balcony where we enjoyed our coffee and wine. Although not in the heart of Waikiki, the location was good and easily walkable to the shopping district. The unit was well stocked, clean and ready for us when we arrived. Paul Tucker was attentive and helpful answering some basic questions. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioners worked well. Our biggest issue was the elevators in the building. There was always a huge line, and it would take us forever. We discovered the service elevator which helped somewhat. Other than that I would recommend this property without hesitation. If you do stay at this property, make sure to go to Cinnamon's in the building for breakfast. Best pistachio pancakes ever.

Only frustrating thing was that we didn’t find the washer dryer until the last night we were there because it was tucked in a closet we didn’t use. When we asked where it was early in our stay, we were told to use the community washer near the elevator. No big deal, but I like to wash before packing for home.

Fabulous Vacation Rental

The suite was clean, well equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable. the view was magnificent and we enjoyed the sunrises each day. It was especially nice to have laundry available in-room. The breakfast at the restaurant downstairs has a good variety of selections and there are many restaurants within walking distance in the area. The location was close to everything with the Pink Line bus just outside the Illikai doors, for a quick ride downtown. We have stayed in the Illikai before, but this suite was better suited for 4 of us. We appreciated the property manager being prompt and showed us exactly where everything was. It was a great family vacation and we definately enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Great place to spend your holiday in Hawaii

The location is on the seventh floor and directly facing the ocean and harbor. The views are spectacular. The condo itself has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, TV in living room and both bedrooms and wifi. A big plus is the parking is also included. The condo manager will meet you at check-in and is available should you have any questions during your stay. The management "Captain Cook Reality" is a very professional company and the communication before and during your stay is excellent. We are looking forward to another stay at this beautiful condo.

滞在費に駐車場1区画が含まれており、大変便利でした。
また部屋からの眺めは大変すばらしく、ちょうど隣のヒルトンの花火を目の前で堪能する事が出来ました。
ソファーベッドは大変便利ですが、疲弊している様子もあり、ギイギイという音は残念でした。また部屋にゴミ箱が少なかったです。台所とトイレにあるだけだったと思います。
総体的に眺めがよく、ゆったりと過ごせて、2つのトイレに洗浄機が設置されており、大変満足のいく環境だったと思います。
機会があれば、ぜひまたお世話になりたいと思いました。

A great layout with the bedrooms separated by the living/dining room, and kitchen with ensuite bathrooms in each. The condo was clean and check in went smoothly. It was in a great area right near the lovely swimming lagoon and we used the beach chairs and other beach toys almost every day.

Great Choice
Mark P. から Whangarei, New Zealand, July 23, 2018 July 2018に13泊滞在Our family of four have just returned from a 12 day stay at this apartment.The apartment was all you could have asked for on vacation from its position, spaciousness and condition. In fact it was so good we only saw Paul once at the start of our visit. A huge plus is the view from the lanais and the fact that the sun follows them around all day from the morning until sunset. The beach was great for swimming and the Ala Moana shopping centre was an easy walk down the road so that kept my wife and two daughters more than happy. Plenty of restaurants in near vicinity but we tended to visit mainly Tommy Bahamas and Arancinos on Beachwalk as they were our favourites. For breakfast you cant go passed Tropical Tribe across the road for their Acaii bowls and the coffees at Hawaiian Aroma Caffe on the lobby level of the Ilikai were hard to beat. Hard not to recommend this apartment. Great view of the Friday night fireworks as well.

The only downside to the stay at this condo was the high pitched constant screaming from the Hilton's kiddy grotto next door. At times it made time on the lanai too uncomfortable.
I would recommend the Ilikai HOA speak with the Hilton to minimize the screaming.

Our stay was a reunion with our daughter, son in-law and grandson all from Australia. Your unit 744 was a fabulous place to call home for that almost 2 week. Paul did a wonderful job of greeting us and taking care of anything that came up!
Our first impression was that it looked at least as good as the photos! Views are so wonderful to have, especially being a corner suite. Love that there is no real carpet on the floor; feels clean.
We ate most meals "in" so the fully equipped kitchen was perfect. We also loved having the two lanais! Ensuite laundry is an added perk!! A brand new washer and dryer with larger capacity was installed as we were leaving; will be appreciated by the next guests! We would have appreciated it being installed after our stay, although Paul tried to make the install non-intrusive; it was our last day.
The new wading pool and deck is a great new addition to the Ilikai.
The proximity to the beach, Hilton lagoon and Ala Moana Park is something we have always really appreciated about the Ilikai!

Great place to stay for families

Beach towels were a plus, Since they are too bulky to pack. Great location. We had a rental car, so the parking garage slip came in handy. Only minus was the pool was out of service, but this was not the fault of the owner. However, the lagoon was nice and my granddaughter enjoyed that too. I would recommend to friends and family, and would come back again.

Perfect apartment, great location

It's on the corner of the Ilikai - perfect for watching sunsets, looking out over the marina and the ocean, and the best view for the Friday night fireworks. The double balconies are a bonus. I have to say that this unit had everything I needed to enjoy my vacation. It was truly a home away from home. The only thing that I wished was that we were able to use their work out room. We were told at the front desk that it was for the hotel guests and the condo guests were not allowed to use it. Also, the elevator to the garage was broken the two weeks that we were there.

Amazing Celebratory Vacation

Condo was beautiful and tastefully updated with upscale furnishings and linens. Having the corner condo with views on both sides from our private balcony was perfect, especially for having breakfast or just enjoying the view of Waikiki and the Marina. Having an assigned parking was a great inclusion and made it easy to come and go. We enjoyed walking to shops near by at night after being out all day. Highly recommend #744. Laundry in unit and free parking was great. building is old and hallways and elevators showed it but unit is updated nicely. would love to return to Ilikai #744! It was a pleasure meeting Paul, he was there waiting for us to check in and answered all questions. Cinnamon's was a nice restaurant to grab breakfast and lunch. Location is good, short walk to beach, mall and other hotels

Paul was great to work with and available when needed. Individual air controls were great for each couple to have. This was a corner unit and we had full balcony access from each bedroom as well as from living area. Loved the keyless lock which eliminated one more thing to keep Up with. Smart TV was a great valueadd!

Just enough away from the hustle and bustle of central Waikiki but with access to everything we needed. The Pink trolley bus that picked up at the door was very convenient to go in either direction although the walk was an easy one and very pleasant. The condo was perfectly clean and was extremely well equipped for our holiday with everything that we needed and even didn't realise we needed. The location is perfect as it is at the quieter end of Waikiki and there is plenty of space on the beach or at the pool. Paul greeted us at the building and helped us settle in - thanks Paul for the warm and friendly greeting. We would definitely recommend this condo and won't hesitate to book #744 next time we visit. Make sure your stay includes a Friday night for your front row view of the spectacular fireworks.

#744 at the Ilikai - Exceptional Property

The property was exactly as portrayed on the website. It was an easy 10min walk to the Ala Moana Shopping Centre and also an easy walk into town OR you could catch the convenient Pink Line Trolley for $2. I would have no hesitation is staying here again and highly recommend it to others. It is ideal for 2 couples sharing as there are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and each bedroom has a flat screen TV and direct access to a balcony with tables and chairs etc. We also had front row seats for the Friday night fire works.

Resort management was easy and friendly to work with, we had no issues or complaints what so ever!
There are even beach towels and toys to use in the closet, wifi, coffee filters, really everything you need.
The only reason I gave the location a 4 star instead 5 is while you are next to the beach and lagoon, they have it fenced off and so you have quite a little walk to actually get to the beach, but that is not the fault of the property, I'm guessing its Hilton that put the fence up.Response from Captain Cook Resorts

Wonderful Stay
United States, December 15, 2015 November 2015に3泊滞在Paul, the property manager, and the Captain Cook rental agency were very accommodating and made sure we had a great time and had all that we needed to make our stay wonderful. The weather did not cooperate, but we still had fun and thoroughly enjoyed the location and the views. The Friday night fireworks are literally right outside and we watched from the balcony - the best seat in town! I would definitely rent this unit again!

Then as we walked further into the open floor plan of the kitchen/ lounge room and saw the views of the lagoon,ocean and mariner we were lost for words. This appartment is stunning, it has everything you can think of. The location is fantastic 10 minute walk to the shopping centre or an easy walk along the beach to the heart of wakaii. The shuttle bus stops out the front if you don't feel like walking as do all the tour buses. Would definitely stay here again

There was some construction on the 2nd floor deck which we weren't expecting. So hopefully that will be done soon. It was quite loud if you are by the pool and we could hear it from our room. But our kids were able to nap through it.

The BEST Vacation

Just a very short walk to the beach or the walkway that connects you to everything. This condo has the best of everything,, very modern. Marble, flat screen TVs, ultra modern facilities. The reps at Captain Cook were very helpful and met us at the condo so we could park. I cant wait to go back and we will book this unit again.l

Perfect Location - Level 7

Due to a flight delay we arrived at midnight but this was not a problem for Paul the Representative who met us at the unit. He welcomed us and after showing us our parking space, helped us with our luggage to the apartment. The Condo was situated in the perfect location for wonderful Ocean and Marina views as well as the Fireworks from the Hilton next door on Friday evening. The washing machine in the second bedroom was a fantastic bonus as was the ice maker fridge. We enjoyed 6 days here and would love to return.

STUNNING VIEWS OF OCEAN AND LAGOON
Beaverton, US, September 16, 2014 September 2014に5泊滞在Although this was a little more expensive than we would normally pay, we wanted something special and close to the ocean. It's not easy to find 2-bedroom condo units on Waikiki Beach AND a reserved parking space (a huge asset in Waikiki). Watching the fireworks shot from the Hilton Lagoon while sitting on our deck was amazing. We didn't want the show to end. We spent time at the lagoon experiencing for the first time the stand up paddle boards. The lagoon was the perfect spot to attempt something new. The unit was air conditioned which was a big plus considering it was very warm and humid during our stay. The master bathroom was very spacious. The TV's were all updated flat screens. The beach chairs that were provided were probably the best we've ever seen. The chairs and the beach towels both were of the highest quality and very much appreciated. The property agent who met us at the condo was very friendly and informative. The only items that we saw as negatives were that the dryer (being a condensation dryer)would not dry even a small load of light clothing. After dealing with it for several hours, I went to hotel's laundry room and paid to dry our clothes. The second item---even though the patio provided a gorgeous view--it was very narrow. The air conditioning unit took up a large part of the deck. There were two patio chairs on the front deck that were reclinable but there was not enough room to recline them. In summary, the unit in person appeared exactly as it looks in the photographs.

Fort Thomas, United States, July 17, 2014 July 2014に7泊滞在I must say I was very satisfied with this condo. It was spotless when we arrived and has many amenities that we found very useful. The views are breathtaking and the location is far enough away from the crowds of Waikiki beach but close enough if you want to partake in it. We absolutely loved this unit and would stay here again if we get the chance to return.

Perfect location, really enjoyed the two balconies,a beautiful view and plenty to watch(surfers, boaters...). The kitchen was well supplied, had plenty of beach chairs and towels and the condo was very clean and orderly. We forgot something in the condo after checking out and the realtor, Paul was kind enough to mail it to our home. Thank you for a great vacation.

Great place
David R. から Lake Crystal, United States, April 29, 2014 April 2014に5泊滞在Very nice rental, good location, can be a bit noisy outside on the lanai but we were not enough to care. Very nicely remodeled. Don't plan on using the clothes dryer as it is a ventless model that takes forever to dry clothes, there are laundry machines down the hall however. Very clean.
We would stay here again. -
Great first VRBO experience!

Everyone involved was very helpful. The accommodations were top notch. Everything was updated and of excellent quality. The lanai was better than it showed in the advertisement. We spent several evenings on the lanai enjoying the beautiful view. As well, the location of the Ilikai was perfect! I would strongly recommend renting #744 at the Ilikai. You will not be disappointed.

First trip ever and couldn't have asked for more!
Vacaville, United States, April 15, 2014 March 2014に7泊滞在This was our first trip to Hawaii and we couldn't have asked for a better and more amazing place to stay! Wonderful location, so close to everything but just enough removed from the extra hustle and bustle of the Hilton beach area. So easy to get where we needed and wanted to go each day. Having the parking spot was a super big plus! The washer and dryer are little and take a while but are great for small loads and full size washer and dryer are available on each floor for the bigger loads. We had two small kids and the place worked out great for them too. Such an amazing condo! Such amazing staff from Captain Cook too - thank you Paul. Looking forward to coming back and staying again.

It was also great having a parking spot for our rental car. The location was perfect, close to the beach and the action. Watching the fireworks from the lanai was another highlight. I would highly recommend this condo.

Recent renovations with all new equipment make it such a pleasure. Three new separate quiet air conditioning zones add comfort with no disturbing noise. Ideally placed on west end of Waikiki next to Hilton resort with all its offerings. Illikai is stately 60's classic hotel and Dana the concierge was very helpful too. If you go there please take care because we want to come back and find it in such great shape!

Great view & location
East Falmouth, US, March 3, 2014 February 2014に7泊滞在Our stay was terrific, starting with Paul's greeting and tour and ending with the ease of leaving. Fantastic view from all rooms, super easy access to beach, marina and all of Honolulu. We were sad to leave!
