Great communication and responsive email responses for all our pre-trip questions. We visited Waikiki for Christmas and loved our stay. This condo was spacious for our family of four. It had a beautiful view of the marina. Perfectly loved just outside of all the touristy hub-bub. We loved how quiet our part of the area was in comparison. Amazing stay at Ilikai #1629!!

I will say I originally rented Ilikai Marina #1180, but upon arrival the unit was still undergoing construction which meant we could not open the door to the petite balcony or open a window. I spoke with one of the amazing people at Captain Hook and they bent over backwards to get me another unit, and they did! The next day we moved to Ilikai unit #1629. It was perfect, it met all of our needs and more. They even reimbursed us for the valet services. They were always available and helped whenever needed, which once we were settled nothing was needed. The unit we stayed in was sufficiently stocked and if it wasn't I knew they would bring whatever we needed to us. And might I mention the sunsets from the balcony of this room were over the top beautiful. Overall, I would absolutely use Captain Hook while staying in Honolulu. Another great stay at Ilikai Marina

Well located with beautiful views of the marina, magic island and Ala Moana bowls. The unit was great. Really nice that there is a sliding door that breaks the unit in two, with each side having access to the bathroom via their own entrance. Beach towels, chairs and a cooler were very useful. We’ll definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Perfect Location!

Nice sized kitchen, bath and bedroom which could be closed off if there are guests using the pull out sofa bed. Parking was easy, and there was lots of it available. Perfect view of the Friday night fireworks. Would definitely stay here again.

Convenient walking distance to beach and restaurants. Parking was easy underground with the overnight in/out pass. Comfortable mattress and bedding. Clean. The unit had two beach chairs, two boogie boards, and an ice chest which was a much appreciated bonus.

Location was perfect to walk to the beach and the Ala Moana Mall. Unit was very clean & well maintained. The only thing I would’ve changed are the blinds in the bedroom... need darker shades so the sunlight doesn’t shine thru in the morning for guests who like to sleep in. Other than that, the condo was perfect!

There is a Red Lobster and ABC store nearby, so it was very convenient for us. I would stay in this room again when I visit Hawaii.

The condo is as advertised. Best thing was the always interesting 11th floor corner views of the marina, sunset, etc. Condo was clean and well-equipped. Nice Eaton Square grocery is only a 6-minute walk away. Most places in Waikiki are within a pleasant 20-minute walk, but you are away from the crowds. Good customer service when we had a few questions. Do note that the lanais in this property are really tiny, but the living space is nice.

Great views, great location

Cozy condo with a great view

PROS: The location worked well for us and was close to some great food and shopping. The condo was very clean and tidy. Both beds were comfortable. We were grateful the condo had AC and the views were beautiful.
CONS: The sofa bed was not made up for us, despite the property management company knowing we had 3 guests.
The bathroom left a little to be desired as the tub itself is in rough shape and the fan didn't do a great job circulating the air. Also, while some folks might love the bidet/toilet situation, it wasn't our favorite.
Lastly, the mediocre communication from the property management company and property manager was disappointing. We called as soon as we arrived in Honolulu (per the instructions from the company) and received a text that the manager would call right back. An hour later, no call. I sent a text to let him know we were in town and requesting information about when to meet him for check-in. An hour later, he still hadn't responded. Calling the property management company was useless because they just direct you to call your property manager. So, I contacted him a third time and he said we could check in and he would meet us there. Only he never showed. I sent him a text as soon as we got into the condo and 30 minutes later he called to give me the run down of where everything was, how to access WIFI etc...only we'd already spent the prior 30 minutes figuring it out ourselves. I am sure there are other properties he's in charge of and that it was probably a busy time with multiple guests checking in at once. I just would have preferred better communication from the beginning.
So again, not a bad stay overall, just really bad communication from the management company.

There is such a thing as "perfect"!

Good Location, Great Views

The unit was clean (though some wear was evident) and well furnished, with a very comfortable bed. The pull out sofa bed is convenient and was a great fit for our two kids. If you want to be in the heart of Waikiki, this probably isn’t the place for you — it’s a long walk. Restaurant choices are also a bit limited at this location. However, there’s a small grocery/convenience store right across the street and it’s close to the Hilton Lagoon (great for swimming and publicly accessible. Overall, a nice unit and a good value.

The unit plays bigger because of the mirrors (a few to many for my taste but...). Kitchen and bar fully equipped, modern appliances and a great coffee maker ( very important, lol). Very good for a couple, not sure if a family of four or more would fit comfortably.

Fabulous Views and Location

The energy of the city, explosion of restaurants, cafes,and breweries. Abundant shopping at Hermes and Prada or ABC and everything in between was a great way to transition back to East coast living from out super relaxed Maui week. We started the week on Waikiki Beach moved on to great hiking and a North Shore surf contest Then crammed so much into our last day -Chinatown, Patagonia, the lagoon, Roy's - that we were ready to return to our east coast pace. I soooo miss coffee on the lanai.

Fabulous Harbor View

Unit is a short walk to the beach or a slightly longer walk to Magic Island. Great location with many restaurants nearby. Working harbor and urban setting can be noisy at times.

Beautiful View

Apartment was walking distance to some restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels. Overall a good value. A couple things to note — internet would drop us frequently and we would have to sign back on. Additionally we were provided a watered down container of dish soap in the kitchen instead of replacement.

Exceeded expectations
Evan S. から Brookline, United States, August 18, 2021 August 2021に4泊滞在If you are looking for a non-resort stay, away from the craziness of Waikiki but close enough to experience it when desired, do not hesitate to book this unit! It is absolutely gorgeous and honestly even looked better than the pictures (except for the lanai which is super tiny, but didn't take away from our experience at all). Check in was seamless. I just couldn't have been happier with how this turned out. Everything is in great shape, especially the appliances, the bed is comfortable and the bidet toilet was a nice bonus. I hope this place stays exactly as it is so I'll be able to book it again in the future.

Fantastic rental! Best in Honolulu.

The rental process was easy, everything was as described, the apartment is well-stocked with every equipment you might need (and my husband is a chef so we do cook!), there are even many spices left. The bedding is very comfy, even the sofa bed, which is rare. There is lots of storage, even in the bathroom. The location is great, especially when Waikiki beach is crowded: here you get to choose between popular Waikiki and more quiet areas (there is an amazing, uncrowded beach at Ala Moana Park) because you are towards the end of Waikiki. The mall (including grocery store) is within walking distance which was great since we didn't rent a car. It is a quiet building, and it has a good restaurant and a pub on the lower floors. It's also a good location for the boys who like action: you can see submarines, airplanes, cargo boats, helicopters, charter boats, parasailers, kayakers and yachts all from the balcony! And the view! My god the view!!!! You cannot beat the unobstructed ocean view on 2 sides of the apartment, we just couldn't get enough of that blue! Next time I come to Oahu I definitely want to rent the same place.

Great unit, incredible view & great management

Great furniture & decor. The kitchen was well stocked & modern. The unit was very clean upon arrival. The location was actually better than I expected. You are out of the "tourist trap" area but can also easily walk there.
