  Very nice, clean, spacious apartment with a great view! However, during one of the days we were there, a construction crew on the floor above made so much noise, we had to leave. Other than that, it was a nice convenient home base for our stay on Oahu.

  We had a lovely stay here. It has parking, is close to all the beaches and the Ala Moana shopping mall. Felt very safe and secure there.

  Even before we landed, our host was gracious to assist with our concerns. Suite was very clean with all the amenities available, and always a phone call away in case of any issues. we were lucky that the Ilikai just finished refurbishing the ocean side portion of the balconies, so the view was just grand. Honestly, this our 5th stay in the Ilikai dating from 2012, but i would say that this was our best experience...wish we scheduled for a longer stay.
  One of the prcious highlights was the availability of a bidet, whether you are from the Middle East or from Japan, you'll understand how this was a serious concern, and it's availability was a deal sealer.

  We had a great stay at the condo. The property description was accurate, and the location at the marina was central and very convenient—perfect for exploring the area. The condo itself was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. While a few areas showed some wear, overall the space was well-maintained and perfectly fine for our needs. Check-in process was easy. Would definitely consider staying here again.

  Other than repairs being done on the facade of the building resulting in some unwanted noise, my stay at #988 was very pleasant. The location was walking distance from where and whom I wanted to visit. The balconies face the relatively quiet marina - very little traffic and very pleasant views. The apartment itself is bit dated but in good condition, clean and complete with all needed amenities. Captain Cook management was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely book arrangements through Captain Cook Resorts in the future and stay at #988 again.

  The sunset from our room was absolutely beautiful and we were able to enjoy the fireworks on Friday from our room .
  The room was cleaned nicely and was comfortable.

  We had a great stay in this rental. The check in and check out process was easy. The location of this unit was wonderful and convenient. The view was great. If you need to use the pullout couch make sure there are sheets for it in the unit before it's too late in the evening (if you can). That was our one hiccup, which was resolved the next day.

  We’re new to the vacation rental world, having only stayed in one rental before this one. Our first experience wasn’t the best, and we had high hopes for this one.
  
  We wanted a place that offered affordability, a kitchen for cooking, and free parking. We parked our rental in the building; however, it wasn’t free ($28/day)! Perhaps I didn’t read everything as well as I should have. Ramps would have been more convenient for our luggage versus hauling it up the stairs to the elevators.
  
  Check-in was a breeze. We didn’t meet the property manager, but they still provided answers to our questions. The condo is cute, decorated well, and bathed in gorgeous natural light that streams through the large windows. The bed was clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep after a day spent with friends, and exploring the area.
  
  The kitchen is well-stocked. The frying pans are in good shape, although larger lids that fit would have been perfect. Knowing the unit had a blender, I brought my protein shake supplies to drink each morning.
  
  The condo is older and requires several upgrades. The top rack in the dishwasher is missing a stopper to keep it from coming off track, so my husband taped it to stop it. The plug-in outlet by the stove didn’t work; we unplugged the toaster whenever we plugged in something else. We were surprised to find two cockroaches on the kitchen counter when we came home one evening. My husband, who lived in Hawaii for seven years, said they are to be expected and hard to get rid of.
  
  Despite being serenaded by construction noise at 8 am, we would return and will recommend the condo to our friends.

  I stayed at this room for the purpose of joining Triathlon Race held in Ala Moana park. It was convenient for me since I could get my bike into the passenger lift when go out and no need to say good access to Ala Moana park, only 10-15 min by walk.
  Even it looks old but the room was kept in clean and well furnished.
  For cooking, you can use Calphalon pan, equipment in this room, in electric oven since it is oven safe up to 400 degrees F.
  I really enjoyed my holiday and it was so comfortable in this room with very nice ocean view.

  We like this unit, perfect for two of us (me and my adult son). He get a full size sofa bed and he is happy. It's perfectly located and convenience to all. Elevators lead to parking garage. It has a full kitchen with all cookware. It has great view. Everything is exactly like the images showing at the rental listing. Self service Landry is 1 flight down. It fits us well.

  I stayed a week at the Ilikai Marina Condos and was very happy from reserving my arrival to departure. Staff is knowledgeable and very nice to work with. The unit was clean and kitchen well stocked with kitchenware. My 2 daughters & grandaughter were at Hilton Hawaiian Village but preferred to watch the fireworks from my condo. Spectacular Friday night event.I will definitely rebook here again when in Honolulu.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at Ilikai 988. We are usually visitors to Maui and decided to try Oahu. We love the walking and Bike bikes, never needing to rent a car except to go to Kailua and Pearl Harbor. The condo was lovely and well maintained. Paul was a gem to work with and secured a late check out which was greatly appreciated. All Captain Cook staff were quick to respond and were very helpful. The condo was very cleaned well maintained (a nice broom to replace the older corn broom would have been a nice addition).

  We enjoyed our stay at the Ilikai. One of the highlights was watching fireworks at the Hilton from the 9th floor balcony. Overall, a good location plus home conveniences.

  Our Vacation Rental Experience was absolutely "FABULOUS" The check in/out process was very smooth and easy. The view, I couldn't get enough of. Morning to night, all you want to do is stare out the window. The apartment is very clean, and you have everything you need to feel at home.   This is the second time we stayed at this condo. The view is amazing! The location is easy to get to and parking is convenient. This condo is right at the beginning of Waikiki so you don’t have to deal with to much traffic but close enough to be able to walk to anything. We will stay here again.

  Overall Pros:
  1). Property Manager was helpful upon arrival. There was no toaster in the unit and he quickly went out to purchase one for us.
  2) Very good location and view from lanai excellent
  3) McDonald's, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Harbor Pub and Chart House handy places to eat only steps away.
  4) Short 20 minute walk or less to the Ala Moana shopping center, Target, Walmart, Walgreens and Sam's Club.
  5) Everything worked well in the condo. We especially liked the filtered fridge water and the fact that there were no issues with the television, air conditioning, wifi and phone. We very much appreciated the inclusion of long distance to Canada in the rental.
  6) My husband found the bed to be extremely comfortable.
  Overall, the rental was fine. We have never used VRBO before so we were new to the experience. We were quite happy to not have any problems and there was no need to contact the manager, which was awesome! My brother also stayed with us at this facility on another floor and had multiple problems.
  Cons:
  1) Upon arrival the condo looked exactly as in the photos however we agree with many of the reviews which state, it could use some updating.
  2) We also agree with the statement that the bathroom tub was old and worn.
  3) As mentioned in other reviews, I checked the top of the fridge and it was evident that it had not been cleaned in sometime.
  4) The only reason I would not recommend this rental is due to the noise from the street. Noise had been mentioned in previous reviews but I ignored them thinking how much noise can you hear on the 9th floor. Well, let me tell you the noise of garbage trucks, buses, people talking outside the Harbour Pub and the music from the pub is like you were at street level. This would not be an issue for just this unit. It would apply to all units as all the windows are single pane and rattle with a strong wind. So if you are a light sleeper the noise may be an issue.

  The condo is lovely beyond words. We plan to return. It is lovelier than pictured. A wonderful location for the grand views, and easy to live in. I used to live in Honolulu, and enjoyed walking everywhere as if I were still young! The place is great for that, no more than 3, 4 miles from places I wanted to go.Close to a marvelous beach, too, Fort DeRrussy.

  From the start Captain Cook representatives were courteous and very helpful. Ilikai Marina #988 is in an excellent location to pickup points for the local attractions. Proximity to beaches, restaurants, and shops were within walking distance. Condo was clean and spacious. Would recommend to family and friends and we will definitely stay here again.

  年末年始に大人3名で5泊利用しました。
  お部屋の広さも充分、ハーバービューでとっても快適に過ごせました。
  
  ワイキキ中心部までは徒歩15-20分くらいでお散歩感覚で歩けますが、近くにレンタサイクルのスタンドもあるので便利です。
  レンタカーも利用しましたが、隣の建物が駐車場となっており、お買い物をして荷物が多い時などはありがたかったです。
  
  1点注意が必要なのはランドリーの利用です。
  アプリでの支払いのみなのですが、日本のスマホにはダウンロードできません。
  1階のセキュリティの方にお願いすれば、代わり操作してくれます。

  This was our second stay at the Ilikai Marina. It's a very convenient location, but there was more street noise than last year for some reason. The unit itself was great, with only two minor quibbles: we couldn't find any oven mitts, and there was no free outlet for the voice-over-IP phone that was by the TV.

  When we first arrived our impression did not immediately meet what we envisioned because the condo looked slightly worn. Once two repairs were done through immediate help from Paul the property manager, we began to appreciate the spectacular views of the harbor and ocean plus the extraordinary location at #988. Absolutely spectacular!

  This condo exceeded our expectations. It’s the second time we have stayed at the Illakai Marina. And #988 is the best. Great views. Generous facilities. Comfortable bed. Love the filtered water from the refrigerator, and ice maker. Everything worked perfectly. We will be booking this condo again for sure. Perfect for couples.

  It was a wonderful experience overall, first time in Hawaii!
  We felt "at home" in the apartment, except of course the view, the Marina is "missing" at our home in the way, all our friends who have seen the pictures loved the view! The apartment has all the necessary facilities , with plenty of "consumables" for two weeks. The condo is well placed at walking distances from beach, shopping, restaurants, parks, buses.
  
  Paul Tucker was very helpful overall, and he has helped us to leave the luggage at Ilikai Hotel in the morning: I can make here a suggestion, make it possible to leave the luggage at the condo or arrange something with the neighbour hotels...relying on Paradise transport did not work for us!

  Ilikai Marina #988 was perfect for our family of 4! It was spacious enough for us with awesome view of the marina. The location was perfectly situated within walking distance from the beaches and Ala Moana. We had a wonderful stay! The management was extremely helpful from arrival and most especially on our last day. Our flight was in the evening hours past check out time. Management assisted us with a place to store our luggage until we departed for the airport. Heaven sent! Mahalo!!

  My partner & I have just had 11 nites staying in the Ilikai Marine #988 & we enjoyed our stay there immensely. We cannot fault anything about this apartment. The location is also fantastic for the shopping center, restaurants bus stop, car rental, the lot. This unit was fully equipped with every convenience needed to enjoy our stay. The view is above spectacular. Paul Tucker and the Team from Captain Cook Real Estate were all helpful & check on us during our stay that our comfort & needs were met. I have recommended to my friends home here in Australia to look at this residence and Apt #988 for a comfortable stay and value for money. Sure there is no actual swimming pool on the premises but there is one big ocean out there, which we prefer to swim in. We will book again on our next trip to Honolulu. Mahalo A & F

  This is the 4th time we have stayed in this unit. It has always been a great experience. This time however, we noticed it was not as clean. The bathroom door was dirty and the dust on top of the fridge showed that it has not been cleaned for some time. Also, the internet would drop connection several times a day. Happened to all 3 of our devices.

  We were very happy with our Condo. The views were fantastic and the condo was very well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. Even included beach chairs. The only two negatives for us were the water pressure for the shower was a bit low and also the noise from the bar downstairs was quite loud but that could be fixed if the bedroom window was double glazed.

  We stayed here for a week just after Christmas. This condo was just out of the main drag and located right near the fireworks show. Easy walk to beach and shops. Condo had everything in it plus heaps more!

  Ilikai Marina is an old building but well maintained. The condo was clean and had everything you need. The kitchen was well stocked. The bathroom needs some renovation (bathtub and ceiling). The carpet is old and it shows it. I would probably install tile or laminate in a rental unit (much easier to maintain and looking better). Overall a nice place and a good vacation.

  Everything was neat and tidy, had several beach things to use and provided plenty of what we needed. Paul was nice and checked us in promptly, even offering a few suggestions on places to eat and things to see. Parking was a breeze and highly recommended for future visitors. Location is close enough to the main Waikiki area but far enough away to stay away from the heavy traffic associated with it. Waikiki beach area was only a 20 min walk from the condo. Only small issue was the elevators were undergoing renovation during the day so only one elevator was working during certain hours. But we were usually gone so it didn't really affect us too much. And anytime something were to happen like that, there was a sign posted. Loved the view and would stay again in a heartbeat!

  I really enjoyed my stay, it was located well and easy access to everything I wanted. The only complaint was with the laundry facilities, at the time only one dryer out of 7 was working.

  Spent 13 nights in this condo and overall we are happy with our stay there. very specious,well equipped kitchen and fridge with filtered chilled water. Very happy with the WIFI had conection every time. Bed was on a soft side and didn't suit my wife but that's more of a personal preference.everything looked fairly clean except for the dining chair armrests they had layers of dirt we had to cover them with paper towels. We had a perfect view over the yachts harbour , perfect spot for Fridays fireworks and not bad to watch sunset. Balcony is a perfect spot for a morning coffee. Wasn't that quiet, 9th floor but still everything echoed from the street, and the neighboring hotels air con system was very annoying. Ala Moana shopping center is about 10min walking distance, and ABC grocery store is few steps away. Would prefer a key-less lock so we didn't have to worry about the key. Few sets of towels and bed linen were provided and beach towels as well overall had a pleasant stay there.

  This condo was absolutely perfect. It was an easy walk to be right in the middle of the action. The views were stunning and it was a perfect spot to view the friday night fireworks! I was most surprised by how little wait we had for the elevators. We intend to only stay in this condo when we return and would consider a long term rental as well.

  My mother and I visited Hawaii for her 75th birthday. Booking with Captain Cook Resorts was the right decision. I spoke with Wendy several times on the phone before our arrival. She was always friendly and professional and provided great information. Upon our arrival, we called Paul to let him know we were on our way. Paul met us in the parking garage and escorted us to the condo. He even carried our luggage. He explained the condo to us and left us to explore. Later that evening, we had a problem with the toilet. I told him it could wait until morning, but he insisted he come that evening. The condo overlooks the Marina and the location provides the most beautiful sunsets. We were very pleased with the condo and will definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of visiting Oahu. Our only complaint, and definitely out of managements control, was the elevator was so slow. We had the vacation of a lifetime.

  Condo exceeded our expectations, better than we expected from pictures.Condo good design with bedroom that can be closed off. Building seems well maintained, fabulous views, well equipped kitchen,good closet and drawer space. Wi-fi worked well. Good view of Friday fireworks and sunsets. It is close to lagoon and ocean beaches, Ala Moana Shopping Center, and excellent grocery store (cross Ala Moana and walk 4 short blocks on Hobron Lane and bend right). We reserved parking in building when we rented unit and always found a space easily. Laundry was one flight down, with several well maintained washers and dryers. (You'll need lots of quarters) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  Overall, a good experience. As repeat customers from 18 months ago my wife and I knew the drill - which was fine since check-in and check-out were completely on our own (and without incident). The appliances were very satisfactory, as were the kitchen utensils. Beddings and towels were as advertised and quite adequate. The location was still perfect (for us). The feeling of security is very good. Our only concern is that the total cost of the 8-day rental is not sufficiently attractive to warrant us staying there a third time vs. trying something else.

  We stayed there for 6 nights. Management people were professinal and very helpful. The property is on a noisy street, however, u dont notice it in the acutual unit. There was some repair work going on in the unit just above ours and that was very noisy. My only negative comment will be that the sleepar sofa was very inconvenient to sleep on and could be replaced with a better one. Other than this we had a great time.

  We stayed for a week over Christmas and had a great time.This unit is a bit removed from all the action and business of Waikili Beach but a close walk for dinner or an evening out.The unit was great and any problems we had were addresses right away.Thanks

  We and our 3 month old son stayed at Ilikai Marina for two weeks in December. It was a nice flat with very nice views of the ocean and sunsets. It was very close, walking distance, to shops, the beach and Waikiki centre. Perfect size for 3 people (we rented a crib). The neighbours are very nice! It was very practical with a nice and good equipped kitchen and laundry room on the floor below. The bed was small and not very comfortable, though. We had to clean the dishes before we used them, because they were dirty. The bathroom could also be cleaner (shower curtain, mat on the floor and the door) Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend it any time!

  We apologize for the cleaning. Our regular crew goes through everything very thoroughly. We used a temporary cleaning crew before your stay. We don't use them anymore. The bed is queen size and a little firm.

  We stayed in #988 condo for a month at the end of summer. Overall it was a great stay and I'd recommend this condo to anyone who is on a long vacation, because the condo is just like a home with all the amenities. However, no pool was a bit of a downside and the lagoon and ocean are just a bit far compared to a pool in the building. Also we had the unfortunate luck of the building doing remodeling while we were there, so constant construction noise and building looked terrible on the 9th floor with all the carpet stripped up and paint scrapped off the walls. The view from the condo is great with the ocean, marina, awesome sunsets, and Friday night fireworks. Condo is very comfortable and a great get away from the endless crowds in downtown Waikiki, but close enough to still enjoy the Waikiki scene with a bit of a walk.

  The two of us have been going to Hawaii annually for the last 5 years. In the past we stayed closer to Diamondhead and booked accommodation through travel packages or on-line directly with the condo or hotel. This was our first booking with Captain Cook. Unit 988 is perfect for a couple or family of three. This unit's view of the large Waikiki marina provided many hours of tranquility - especially in the mornings and evenings. The area was much more quiet than ones closer to the main drag. Sunsets were spectacular. Our long walks along the water's edge, from Ala Moana park on the South to the zoo on the North added to our enjoyment and relaxation. There are lots of places nearby to eat, shop, and drink. Good groceries are a short walk away. The choice of beaches within walking distance range from crowded and noisy to almost deserted and from populated by predominantly tourists to by mainly local families. The unit itself is well stocked with linens, towels, and utensils. The appliances are in generally good condition. The air conditioning worked well and we ran it on low all night two or three times. The ceiling fan was quite noisy at certain speeds, but we were able to find a setting at which it ran smoothly on nights we elected to sleep with the patio door open. We encountered a couple of small bugs - harmless and not unusual in the tropics. We initially felt worried about the absence of a safe, but security concerns dissipated after a couple of days. Overall a good value proposition that, hopefully will be kept up through on-going affordable pricing and building maintenance.

  The Ilikai Marina offers great views and a convenient location. It is perfectly located for restaurants, shopping and bus services. The view of the marina is unique in busy Waikiki and the sunsets are fantastic. The unit is tastefully decorated and well maintained.

  Great apartment and great location. Great kitchen for those of us who like to cook even when away. Nice view out over the marina. The building is old but in great condition. If you look closely at old Hawaii Five 0 episodes you will see featured. A reasonable distance from the Royal Hawaiian so you can walk of those cocktails and pizzas consumed while watching the sunset. Will be on my list when returning to Waikiki.

  Stayed there before our Hawaiian cruise. Can't beat the price. It's a good 2 mile walk to all the action at Waikiki. Would have preferred a property with a pool as well as own laundry and a higher floor. Also they need more beach towels, beach chairs and pillows but overall would stay there again.

• Staying at condominium was my first experience, however, I had excellent support from a staff while staying.

  Two inconveniences (slow tub drain which I fixed with Liquid Plumber and slow internet service which was easily fixed with a new splitter were offset by perfect location for us at the marina and property manager's flexibility on our arrival and departure times, allowing us to drop our bags early while the room was being cleaned. Friendly manager and cleaning staff; convenient location for marina based activities, gorgeous views, comfortable furnishings including beach towels and beach chair. Updated kitchen. Half the price of condos next door at the Ilikai hotel.

• The unit was very nice. The only problem was that it was a long walk to Waikiki downtown. However the bus stop is close so it partly compensated.

  Our first time renting a condo after three trips
  involving hotel accommodation - and so much better from every angle. It simply facilitated our
  plans in big and small ways to have the luxury of
  keeping to our home routine for breakfast, then to venture out for a day of sightseeing/shopping
  and then have a dinner in the local restaurants.
  Because of the size of the portions served we
  also were able to share the entree courses - thus
  able to enjoy more expensive selections.
  Will certainly repeat in future visits to wonderful Waikiki Beach.
