Think of it as a two bedroom

February 2023 January, 2023日後に4日間滞在Unit is quite large, and with two bathrooms and a very confortable Murphy bed in the living area, it acts like a two bedroom. The location is convenient, but busy and noisy being in the middle of Waikiki. There is an outdoor club right below with live music nightly. Fortunately, the music stops right at 10pm; must be a local regulation. The kitchen is not very well stocked, by the way. All in all, a decent place to stay in Waikiki, especially if you appreicate or need a large unit.

Spacious and clean penthouse unit!

We loved our stay and would recommend it for families traveling to Honolulu and interested in staying in Waikiki for their trip. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walkable distance. Parking in the basement, entering and exiting is relatively easy and it's easy to get to/from the freeway. My only complaint is the building elevator can be quite slow, especially since we're on the top floor.

Family Trip to Hawaii

It was centrally located and was convenient for walking around to visit stores and restaurants in Waikiki. We loved the free parking included with our unit. The place had a gorgeous view of the ocean and mountains. We were able to watch the fireworks on Friday night from the lanai. Our property manager, James, was great at responding quickly to my texts. The only reason I’m not giving this unit a 5 star review is that I would’ve liked to see the place to be a bit cleaner. I noticed I few spots and areas were missed in the bathrooms and the dining area. Some of the furnitures are needing maintenance as they were showing their age, wear and tear, needing to be replaced soon. But overall our entire family of 6 were comfortable and utilized the kitchen amenities and washer and dryer nicely included in the unit.

Nice but noisy place in Waikiki

The premises are nice, the condo is well equipped and has a good overview of Waikiki from a 23rd floor. The only con is the noise, Waikiki is a noisy place in the night and the insulation is not good.

Convenient location with amazing view

The property is well managed, clean, with all the necessary supplies. The property manager is very friendly and is available 24/7. The unit is in a central location on Waikiki within walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants.

The T.V. remote was broken, the sliding doors to the balcony were very hard to open, especially the one in the bedroom . NO sound proofing on the sliding doors and the live music that started each night was very annoying The bathrooms could use a deep cleaning especially around the shower doors The crib we paid for was not there and had to wait for it the next day

Great location and nice master suite

Captain Cook is great to work with and our property manager was top notch! We were disappointed in the pull out couch sleeping options so we requested a blow up mattress and got it the same day. The location and parking space are great. If you have not been to Waikiki before you just need to be aware that many of the hotel/condo accommodations are old and need to be refurbished. This unit is good and what I would call normal for this area but in other area's it would be subpar. The value for this condo in Waikiki is solid. The pull down queen is adequate but the hide-a-bed options are not suitable for adults. Condo was clean. The master suite is wonderful and has a full bath. It was nice having a second full bath.

Beautiful Rental with amazing views

Great stay at Marine Surf PH#4 in Waikiki

The stay was fantastic. What a great unit! It was spotless when we arrived. And the price was excellent especially when compared to other options
for one bedroom with much smaller size.
It was great to sit out on the large lanai and enjoy the city and ocean views from the 23rd Penhouse floor. The floor to ceiling sliding glass windows brought the outside in whenever we wanted.
It helped to have the bedroom completely separate from the living area. Other condos were often had just accordian doors between the two. Because of the separation and the desk in the bedroom my wife and I were able to work remotely in the mornings without interferring with one another. A definite bonus with the layout.
It was exactly as pictured in the Vrbo photos and the bedroom is large. Two bathrooms was an extra bonus. Washer dryer in the unit was especially handy.
The condo is about a 10 minute walk (if that) to the beach. It's a quick walk to the mall and the thousands of ABC Stores.
Also note the availability of the backpack style beach chairs and the beach towels for maximum sun, sand and surf.
Dinner at Duke's and then Roy's was fantastic. Also check out Hard Rock Cafe and the restaurant called the "Tiki Bar" across from the beach. Get reservations for each as soon as you get there. We topped off the stay with a visit to Pearl Harbor and a catamaran sail off the beach.
You could walk anywhere in Waikiki. We got a rental car one day at the Hilton Hawaiian Village rental car office to enjoy a drive to the east side of the island. It was a great excursion.
It was one of our favorite Hawaii trips and the great location and the extra room of this condo was a foundational reason it was so pleasant. We highly recommend this unit. If it is available on any future trResponse from Captain Cook Real Estate

Great value penthouse in middle of Waikiki

Beautiful view from large lanai.
Very secure building.
Some noise from street. Sliding door is improperly sized, so it doesn’t seal well, letting in more noise than one would expect. Sliding glass doors are difficult to open.
Murphy bed was as comfortable as a normal bed.

Good Location

The noise of singing at outdoor performance near lasts till 10pm every night. The sofa bed and foldable mattress of living room are very uncomfortable and noisy due to mattress spring.

PH4 parking was low ceiling and not great spot but they were providing other spot. No worries!

Fantastic Apartment!
DORSET United States, 30. April 2019 April, 2019日後に7日間滞在The apartment was perfect! One of several units rented in Marine Surf to attend a family wedding; very comfortable for five adult children. Especially appreciated having a washer and dryer in the unit, and a large kitchen and dining table. Check in and check out through Captain Cook was very easy. Marine Surf is an excellent location in Waikiki- very close to beach, surrounded by restaurants at a fraction of the nightly cost of a beach-side hotel. Plus no resort fee add-on (typically $25 a night at most Waikiki hotels), and free assigned parking space (typically $35 a night). We would definitely return!

Great central location, clean, well planned layout, beautiful finishes, safe, beautiful view, and very well equipped. Easy to get ahold of property manager when needed. A bit too loud from the traffic below when the balcony doors were open, though quiets down around 11 pm. Wish we had more than two fob keys to share. We used it for 2 parents (had our own separate bedroom/ bath) and 4 adult children. I would definitely recommend this property.

It’s also on the main bus routes so very handy for all those shopping trips to Ala Moana as well travelling further afield.
The apartment is very spacious and well appointed. The full size kitchen with the washer and dryer was perfect for our two week stay.
The views from the large balcony are superb. The real highlight is the lack of high rise development in front of you. Therefore the views are quite expansive with the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. Being in the centre of Waikiki does come with noise, but we never found it to be an issue, particularly inside the apartment. We actually enjoyed the live music coming from the outdoor venue down below. It want raucous and always finished by 10.30. We certainly didn’t need earplugs as some other reviewers have mentioned.
We had wonderful service from Captain Cook before and during our stay. James, our Captain Cook representative was only ever a phone call away and very responsive. The on-site building management team was also very helpful.
I would highly recommend Captain Cook for holidays in Hawaii. Seriously, why would you stay in a hotel when you can rent a larger condo for a cheaper price.Response from Captain Cook Real Estate

It was a very wonderful condo

Because it was a penthouse, the view was wonderful, I could see the sea of Waikiki, and I also enjoyed the fireworks at the Hilton Hotel. Furthermore, because it is in the center of Waikiki, it is very convenient wherever you go. I definitely want to use it again next time.

Waikiki Getaway

There were, however, a few glitches: 1) the water was off in the entire building for a few hours while another unit's plumbing was under repair (although I don't blame management for that) and 2) management informed me a day after we arrived that a new dishwasher would be delivered to replace the existing one on a certain day and time frame during our stay but it never happened. In the mean time, we realized the existing dishwasher was malfunctioning so we couldn't use it. Despite all that, the staff was courteous and friendly.

Lived up to the pictures

Close to the beach. The condo became home for the whole time that we were in Honolulu.

Email and phone Communication with the reps and property manager were efficient and satisfactory. The PH had enough starter supplies for us (bath, dish washer, washlet, garbage bags, TP, paper towels). It was also very convenient they had a ton on towels for us to use. The lanai was spacious and furnished perfectly. Definitely a child friendly rental. They were also able to accommodate a parking space swap since we had to rent a small van. Location was perfect- close to Starbucks, Food places, the beach and ABC stores.

Clean, Comfortable, Cheap

Our property manager was pleasant and helpful to ensure we had what we needed so my stay wouldn’t be interrupted with inconvenience. View was great. In all our years of travel this was the first rental that didn’t require us to strip linen, wash dishes or empty trash upon departure. So the cleaning fee charged for this rental is truly a cleaning fee. I didn’t have to worry about washing the few cups or plates we used for a quick breakfast on day of departure. Most notably, I was traveling with children and our flight was at 9pm. Check out is 11am. I asked my property manager if there was an option for late check out because it would be helpful for us with having the kids. It took them all of 20 minutes to figure everything out and accommodate a later check out. With NO additional expense. It allowed me to be able to pick up our luggage and have the kids take a nap and shower before we left. When traveling as a family, this type of accommodation without nickle and diming you, is the world of difference and enormous help. This type of hospitality should be the prototype for any property management company.

Living the high life in Waikiki

December 2017 December, 2017日後に9日間滞在We arrived on an early flight and since check in was not until 3pm we managed to store our luggage at a friends hotel we were travelling with until access. I met our contact at the building and was shown the apartment. All went well, he was informative and friendly. We moved in and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and space in the apartment. The views are great as it is on the 23rd floor and the surrounding buildings are far away so you are very private on your balcony. There was plenty of bath and beach towels and having a quality Bosch washer and dryer made washing clothes and towels a breeze. There are beach chairs and body boards that you can use and the large kitchen and fridge with ice maker made happy hour so much better. There is always some noise from the street below, as we are in Waikiki that never sleeps, but if you close the sliding doors or just use those small ear plugs all is ok. There is a small pool in the complex but you end up at the beach most times, which is a quick few minute walk away. The location was fabulous, in the middle of everything, with a plethora of restaurants and bars around you. Only one gripe was the toaster that was very fiddly to get to stay on but not a real issue. I would highly recommend this apartment for up to 6 people as we traveled with 2 couples and 1 child and had plenty of room.

Penthouse Glory

James was wonderful at helping us get WIFI set up and was only a quick call away. The elevators were quick and reliable and the building was safe and well maintained. Close to restaurants, bus lines, there was a tour organizer just down the block who was super helpful and fun. Would absolutely stay there again.

Oahu family vacation

Great Waikiki location

But issues with a prior reservation on another part of the island caused us to have to find a new place shortly before our trip. We were very pleased with this unit! Being in the penthouse was really nice! The location in Waikiki was very central and accessible. The place was clean and plenty big enough for the 5 of us. The views are really nice, especially of the Friday fireworks show! Waikiki means you'll have traffic noise, smells from local restaurants (which were really good, by the way), but if you don't mind that, it's a great place to stay. I'd highly recommend it!

A nice place to stay

The unit was clean and worked well for the four of us. Any more people would have been rather tight. The unit was a four minute walk to Waikiki (the best part of Waikiki in my opinion). There are tons of restaurants and shopping all in the general neighborhood. Views were great too! I would stay again in a heartbeat.

A great apartment

The rental agency was very responsive to our questions and issues (they quickly added a safety lock to the slider for our daughter's safety). The only issue was that it requires a key to get to the penthouse floor, and only having two keys for a large group was annoying. Other than that it was great.

Great property in a central location.

October 2016 October, 2016日後に6日間滞在This Penthouse apartment is in a building on the corner of Seaside Ave and Kuhio St. It is well appointed with two bathrooms, a large master bedroom with private lanai and lots of cupboard space, as well as multiple sleeping options in the living area including a very comfortable queen sized Murphy bed. There are flat screen TVs in the living room and bedroom. It's location is very near to the bus stops on Kuhio . . it's a ten minute ride to Ala Moana Shopping Centre and only a block away from all the shopping and restaurants on the main strip. It's an easy 10 minute stroll to the beach. The Food Pantry is just down the street so you can buy the ingredients to cook if that's your preference . . .the kitchen has everything you need. All towels are provided, including beach towels and there are chairs and boogie boards you can borrow to take to the beach. The new washer and dryer are a bonus if you're travelling with a family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again next time we're in Waikiki . . . Jessica from Captain Cook Resorts was a dream to deal with.

Awesome Views and Location.

Our only moan would be the beds. The king size in the bedroom was very firm!! and the pull out sofa bed was in really bad condition. We used all the blankets and duvet covers to make it just passible to sleep on. Also the sliding door was jammed and difficult to open. We were told that someone would come and repair it but no one did. Also 2 kitchen chair legs were wobbly. I would definitely recommend this place if those few things were fixed.

Nice place to stay

Cons: Couldn't enjoy the view during the day as it was too hot because the air conditioning unit was old, we had to keep the drapes closed. We were asked to not run the air conditioner when we were gone so it would be stifling hot when we returned. Cleaners did not do a great job in cleaning. Found lint, dust, coins, cord under dresser. Recyclables left in the kitchen cabinet that had not been taken out. Master shower drain was plugged, but this was taken care of right away when we called. There is a parking space, but it is very small and low. We had a small SUV and it did not clear the pipes. Dryer kept turning off every 2 minutes. Washer smelled of mildew. Jessica, Property Manager and the maintenance man were very nice and helpful.

The unit description mentions the size of the parking stall: "FREE PARKING for one compact or standard vehicle (larger stall can be requested, but not guaranteed)" We apologize we were not able to relocate your SUV to a larger spot, but this is the height of our busy Summer season. We were happy to hear you were still able to park in the spot nonetheless.

Great time in Waikiki!

Only one or two problems, the condensation dryer wouldn't work because apparently it kept getting waterlogged and flashing an error code. Fixed it by just removing the condenser and having the moist air vent into condo instead of dryer's water trap (check youtube). Really needs to be serviced it seems. Also the mattress to the main bed was quite firm, we ended up sleeping on the murphy bed which was more comfortable. Other than that great location for exploring Honolulu with an awesome view up on the 23rd floor!

Good location

There are no condiments, not even salt and pepper and the bath mats were filthy and caked with hair. It was okay, we just didn't use them. Other than that the place was clean, pretty big and affordable. The manager was very friendly, responsive and kind. Great view.

February 2015 February, 2015日後に6日間滞在This was a great apartment to be based in. 2mns walk to all the wonderful waikiki shopping and eating and beachfront, yet away from the busyness just a little as well. Well set up and stocked and the management was particularly helpful, bending over backwards to accommodate us. Main bedroom blinds are balut to be replaced which was needed S it is a bright room at night. The only negative comment I have is that the night noise level in the main bedroom was a little loud as the louvers and air conditioning access in there seemed to allow a higher level of outside noise in than in the lounge area which was significantly quieter. We used earplugs to good effect or you could just sleep in the other bed in the lounge.

Wonderful Stay!

Captain Cook management company is great to work with and always responded quickly to any e-mails we may have sent. The representative was on the phone with us until we were able to find our parking spot once we were close to the penthouse. Garage parking is tight so rent a smaller car if needed. The elevator is really quick too. The penthouse (24th floor) is in a perfect location for hanging out in Waikiki and we pretty much had the floor to ourselves. Driving in the area is problematic with the traffic and not knowing where we were going, but once we became familiar with it, we were fine. We are not use to city noise 24/7 so for those that are bothered by noise, I would use ear plugs. The home was super clean and fairly well equipped with kitchen ware. The one thing they could use is a pizza pan. I initially wanted a more equipped kitchen but once we arrived and settled in we didn't cook in the kitchen as much as we thought. The beds were very comfortable, the murphy bed was a perfect set up and the living room was comfortable. The views are amazing, too and we could see the fireworks on Friday night. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if we were to ever come back.

A truely wonderful experience

An excellent location, with a prompt elevator. The parking space was a little tight. Everything we could enjoy was within walking distance or a short drive. We really enjoyed our round-island drive, especially the north shore. I highly recommend Kua Aina restaurant in Haliewa. Excellent hamburgers! Despite the humidity outside, we three had the great trade winds to cool us. We had a beautiful view of the Friday fireworks. The sunsets were spectacular! As penny-savers, we made good use of the perfect kitchen. It was spotless. The beds were very comfortable, the lanai likewise. In all, I believe no one would have any reason to complain in having a safe and wonderful stay at this penthouse. Thank you for your superior customer service. Paul Tucker answered all our needs. As a film critic was once fond of saying, Two Thumbs Up!We were even given a gracious two hours more from housekeeping to check out comfortably at 1pm. We would stay again in the future without question.

Honolulu Dream Come True

The apartment was roomy and clean and had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Paul was waiting to meet me when I arrived late on the first night and he was fantastic and very helpful. He explained the apartment in detail and said to call him if there was anything we needed. Thanks Paul for being so helpful and obliging. We were flying out very late on the last night and we were able to have a late checkout for no extra charge, how great was that, thankyou Wendy for arranging this for us! Captain Cook Real Estate staff have been amazing from the beginning when I started planning this trip. I would most definitely come back and stay here as the apartment was in a perfect spot and having the free car park was a real bonus. The position of this place is so handy to shops and cafés, plus right across the road is the pickup point for most of the Roberts Tours that we did which was so convenient. Friday night fireworks were a treat and easily viewed from the balcony with a nice cold Malibu in hand. Home now and going to start making plans to come back to this fabulous island and stay in this apartment again. Beautiful apartment, very well maintained and furnished. Absolutely wonderful views from both lanais.
Would not hesitate to stay here if we manage to return to the island. Very easy to ask for a late check out as we did.

Amazing penthouse!

I've been to Oahu several times and this rental was far better than any hotel out there. The condo is located right in the middle of everything and within blocks of the beach and lots of yummy restaurants. It would be my dream to live in that penthouse on a permanent vacation. I'm so glad I found this place!

Great Condo!

It accommodated 4 adults and 2 kids beautifully. Paul, the manager, was very helpful with everything. The condo had a great view, very clean... we were very satisfied.

Wonderful spot for family of 4 with breath taking views!

He was very helpful with getting all our bags up and giving our orientation of the penthouse. BTW, I didn't even know PH4 was a penthouse when we booked it so that was a great surprise. It was very private on the top floor with a special key for elevator access. The inside was as described in the listing. We loved having the 2 separate lanais and that both bathrooms had washlets. The only complaint was that the parking spot had low clearance and that damaged the trunk of the SUV we rented when we opened it. The place is conveniently located in the city and that comes along with city noise. But the views were awesome with ocean views on the left and mountain views on the right. And there were fireworks on Friday night with the best seat in the house. There was notification that water would be shut off for a short period and when I notified Paul, he brought us two 5gal jugs to store water for us to use. They didn't shut off the water the day they scheduled it but they did shut it off another time so we were already prepared. We loved it here and would recommend it to our family and friends. The kids are already planning for our return. Mahalo for a great stay!

Loved the location, excellent view, spacious accommodations, very private-loved being up in the penthouse, friendly greeting staff upon arrival, easy check-in procedure, one block off the main street in Waikiki, Kalakuaua Ave., lots of restaurants and coffee locations nearby, bright and very clean! It was a great place to come home to at the end of a day!

The Best OneYet....

I was very appreciative that the basic necessities were generously provided. Not 1 bar of soap or 2 days worth of dish detergent...BUT...almost the entire 10 days were supplied and all we had to really worry about (for 5 adults) was our food....i love when people charge a fair price and provide as equally fair ...what you will need while you stay there!! The most enjoyable thing for us was how the entire dining room wall opens up to the lanai;the washer/dryer in suite;having 2 full bathrooms;...AND...how personable and friendly Paul (our host) was ...sooo quick to help us!! Definitely the center of Waikiki ....and we have no issues recommending this property.

Our accommodations were terrific. Great security, parking, location, and building amenities. Walking distance to beach, restaurants and shopping. We felt completely at home in the penthouse. We would highly recommend Marine Surf PH4 and Captain Cook Resort Properties.

The unit delivers space, privacy and security and the perfect location if you wish to be in the middle of Waikiki. Along with that comes some noise, however you would likely get that with many condos in the area. The trade off for location was well worth it to me.
We were met curbside at the property on arrival and assisted with our luggage.
The night view from the unit was spectacular. The day view is equally great. We really enjoyed the 2 large lanis and the 2 seperate entrances.
The internet connection was excellent and easy to access.
The day bed was comfortable. We left it down the entire time. There was still plenty of space to walk around it.
The kitchen while not overly equiped was fine for vacation use. We were very pleased that the unit included beach towels and a great washer and dryer.
Transportation such as trollys and the city bus are very close. Starbucks and Jamba Juice are across the street and its less than a block to the Saint Germain bakery where we bought fresh sandwiches. There's an ABC store and a huge Ross on Seaside.
Our departure was simply to lock the door behind us! I would highly recommend this property and I plan to return.

The perfect place for a family holiday

The penthouse was superb especially as we had two teenage kids. Magnificent views, spacious rooms, great location and to top it off great weather. Wouldn't hesitate recommending to anyone who wanted to enjoy a relaxing holiday. Also many thanks to Paul who met us onsite even though we were a bit early. One of the best family holidays we have had!

Family vacation

The sliding doors to the balcony required great effort to open and needed some adjustment and lubrication.Perfect to sit on the balcony at night and watch the action below.We thorougly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the unit to anyone considering rental.Response from Captain Cook Real Estate

A great place to stay

The apartment was spacious with a fantastic view of the water from the balcony.
It is often hard to find accomodation to fit the 5 of us but this well and truly fit the bill.
Paul(the manager) was very welcoming, enthusiastic and accomodating.We were very impressed with the facilities and management -
