My family and I usually stay at the Hyatt across the street, but decided to opt for a Vrbo this time around because we wanted a place with a kitchen. We stayed for a total of eight nights, so free parking was just icing on the cake. We decided to use the extra $$ we saved on parking for a fun activity for the kids. I truly do appreciate that added bonus because parking in Waikīkī can be pricey and challenging!
Check-in was a breeze. The property manager who helped us was great! He was responsive and answered all our questions right away. The place was clean and well-maintained, the views are beautiful and the condo had everything we needed and more!
If this place is available next year, I’ll definitely be booking it again :).

Spring Break at the Banyan
Henderson, US, March 26, 2025 March 2025に9泊滞在We very much enjoyed our stay at the Waikiki Banyan. The property is an easy walk down to the beach, and once you figure out the parking, it's effortless. The pool area was so-so, but the unit we stayed in had a wonderful view of the mountains to the North, and was a perfect place for coffee in the morning, or a drink (or two heh heh) in the evening. Just a heads up, if you rent a car be sure not to rent anything big. We were given a full size Dodge Ram, which was a wonderful vehicle, but it was too big to fit in the garage. We switched to a Jeep Wrangler and it worked out. Very satisfied with the value and the location of this property.

We’ll be back

Very basic, but perfectly uncluttered for a vacation. Close to beaches and our favorite Mai Tai bars. Bathroom is ready for an update.

Very comfortable

Beautiful inside and out

Parking made it easy to have a rental car and reach all sides of the island so was not confined to Waikiki. The unit was beautiful and everything was as described, and as it was in the pictures, the view from the back porch was amazing on the 32nd floor of the mountain range behind.

Constructive criticism
Park Ridge, US, March 19, 2024 March 2024に2泊滞在We had a 2 day rental in 3/24. The unit was very nice as was the view and balcony. I only have a few suggestions:
The bathroom needs some work - I think there is mold in the shower - the caulk at the base needs to be removed, the area thoroughly cleaned, and the grout replaced properly. It would help to clean the exhaust fan so more moisture could be eliminated. If a cheap squeege was put in the shower guests might use it.
The only other thing I would suggest is that next time you paint do not use a flat paint in the bathroom or on the sliding bedroom doors - it is very difficult to keep clean and is unsightly when dirty.
We enjoyed our stay since the location is excellent.

Superb location and facilities

Great view from a clean and comfortable room

The couch, bed and chairs were all comfortable and I liked the style of the furnishings and that there was no unnecessary clutter. Balcony overlooked the canal and the hills in the distance which were great to look at either for the sun rising over them in the morning or seeing the glow of houselights after dark. I especially liked that since the room is on the 32nd floor, there were no other building in the way of the view in that direction. Communication was good and had no problems with entry to the unit with code for door that was provided. I got follow-up texts asking how the trip was going and if I needed anything. A couple questions I asked were answered promptly. I did not use the kitchen for cooking but if I wanted to it looked to have all the utensils, cookware, bakeware etc I would need. I slept well and did not notice any excessive noise either from the streets below or the hallway outside. Unit is just a few blocks from the beach and the food places there as well. Plentiful ABC stores nearby if you need to purchase additional food items or toiletries. The air conditioner was on the loud side but did not bother me and it was effective at cooling the room after being out in the Hawaiian heat. There is a pool/activity deck on the 6th floor but note that a sign was up that indicated that it would start to be renovated soon so may be unavailable for some of the rest of the year. Overall I was very happy with my stay and would consider again if I return. Thanks!

The Banyan's location is very convenient to the beach and island activities. We've stayed in several different units over the years, and 3205-T2 is our personal favorite—it matches our style. The property manager, Byron, is always responsive and helpful, and this past visit, his one-day back-up Hanna was great. Everything is clean and well-maintained. This is our favorite place to stay, in large part for the reliably great service Captain Cook provides.

Very Pleasant Unit

We had lived down the street from this unit prior to moving back to the mainland seven years ago. We specifically selected this location as we were familiar with the amenities in the area including proximity to the beach, convenient bus stops, shopping and dining options galore. The unit was very clean and comfortably furnished. We specifically enjoyed the view from our unit overlooking the Ala Wai canal and the mountains. Having lived here previously we knew we could leave our windows and sliding doors open to provide airflow. We could see the sunrise each morning while enjoying the overnight view of the lights in the neighborhoods in the area. The unit is on the 32nd floor with unobstructed views with no other high-rise buildings on this side of the building. We would definitely stay in this unit again. The folks at Captain Cook Resorts were wonderful to work with throughout the entire process from initial booking, arrival instructions, follow up after our arrival and in preparation for our departure. I would gladly work with them again.

maintenance issue

It was very difficult to open and close each night. I picked this unit so he could have his own sleeping space. I remember reading a much older review complaining about this sofa and assumed it was fixed, since those renters reported it also.
Other issues that I reported were addressed by Byron. Both lamp shades were replaced, TP holder fixed, AC vent cover secured and vertical blinds fixed.Response from Captain Cook Resorts

Greg condo with a terrific view

The condo was perfect for me. I liked the new floor, remodeled kitchen, and the remodeled bathroom. The owners did very good job of remodeling the kitchen with a big refrigerator and electric stove. The bathroom lighting is bright. Perfect for shaving. I would definitely stay in this condo again

Nice Room, Good Service

Room is a little dated with some scrapes and damaged paint/walls. No big deal. Service from Bryon, the CC manger was attentive, clear directions. The one is a a cheat sheet for people checking in 1) where’s the laundry room, where’s the trash bin, what do you need to do when checking out (run the dishwasher?, pull the sheets and towels, no food in Fridge?). Place had a small kitchen, no oven, but well suited for the two of us. Said it sleeps up to 4, pull out sofa and an air mattress in the closet- no way would be too cramped for 3-4+ people. Location is close to restaurants 3-4 blocks from Waikiki, although we didn’t get to see Waikiki on this trip.

Amazing Airbnb - Exactly as pictured

Clean, comfortable, good location

The bathroom could use updating, but was clean and there were plenty of towels. The view of the mountains was lovely, and a rainbow could be seen almost every day! The rental company was easy to work with and their communication and availability was excellent.

Perfect stay

Byron was awesome even though we made him wait when we had rental car issues. Building itself could use some tlc (common areas) but the apartment was perfect

Always a joy with Captain Cook Rentals

Other people staying at the facility were complaining about their room conditions. We have used Captain Cook rentals on Hawaii for four times now.. The condos are always very clean and have everything you could need to play at the beaches or cook in house if you want to.If anything needs to addressed the problem is immediately taken care of. As son lives here obviously visit frequently and would NEVER not book through Captain Cook.

Great place. However......

However the sliding door needed some tlc as it was really to open. Also at night we would constantly hear police sirlens which would disturb our sleep

Comfortable unit

It was clean other than the dirty sheet left in the sofa bed. The king bed was comfy. They provided everything we needed to prep a meal. The toilet was making noises but we didn't report it. There is a nice view of the mountains as you can see from the photos. It is a nice bright unit.

Great condo

We absolutely LOVED our stay at this condo. The contemporary decor, was a nice added touch to the outstanding and spectacular views. The pool/play area for little ones and BBQ area on the recreational deck was an added bonus, we made sure to take advantage of these great amenities. The location was nice, lots of places to eat within walking distance and just a few steps from the beach. I would most definitely recommend this condo to families and friends.

Great condo, great location

This condo had everything you need, full kitchen, large beg and modern bathroom facilities. Parking and wifi included.
Captain Cook Real Estate gave us late check out as the condo was not booked, which was fantastic as our flight was not until 9pm back to the UK.

Good location

Condo with a Beautiful View

This condo is high up enough that the view is uninterrupted -- beautiful all day and night long. The condo itself is very modern, exactly as pictured on the site, and very clean. It has to have the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in on vacation. Having easy Netflix access through the TV system was a bonus. The Captain Cook staff were great, especially Byron, the property manager. Our flight was delayed five hours, and he still met us and was cheerful and helpful at 1 a.m. Big mahalo to Byron! We can't wait to book our next vacation with Captain Cook!

View is outstanding and you really get a good view of mountains and night view.

This place was perfect!!

We were the first people to stay in this particular one since an upgrade, so a few things were missing (dust pan, fan for bedroom, no coffee for the first morning ??) but the starter package that was provided was good, location is perfect, and people were very friendly and helpful. We will be returning!
