The view was amazing, the room was clean, and the furniture was perfect for our stay. The washer, dryer, and refrigerator were all new and easy to use. The bed sofa was perfect, neither too hard nor too soft. We also used the beach gear provided, which is extremely useful for travelers and made our beach experience several times more comfortable. The lanai was spacious and we were able to enjoy a wonderful breakfast. We had a great seat for the Friday fireworks. However, even with the curtains closed, the room was visible when the lights were on at night, so it would be nice if they could address this issue.

Perfect Location for a Perfect Vacation

Centrally located, it's walking distance to great restaurants, shops, snorkeling and other activities. It was clean with everything one could want while on vacation. We could walk out of the building, put on snorkels/fins and swim out to see fish and turtles. Check in and check out were a breeze. Thank you for the lovely experience.

First time
Kamakura-shi, Japan, June 21, 2025 June 2025に4泊滞在This was the first time I stayed in a service apartment rather than a hotel during my overseas trip, but everything I needed was provided and I had a very flexible trip. Location is perfect.The building is old, but the rooms have been renovated so they are clean, and it's quiet because it's next to a big park.

Comfortable room

We had used vacation rental at Kailua / Kihei / Hawaiian pricess / Diamond Head Hotel etc. I can give this property most high point for room clean/room reform degree. Only thing to concern is the noise from upper deck at the morning around 7:00(likely chair drag). But basically very satisfy,

Waikiki Shore 1408 Experience

The view is amazing, and one of the primary reasons we chose it. The unit is very spacious, and the king bed was very comfortable. Appliances, air conditioning and washer/dryer were all great, and in good working order. There were plenty of ‘starter’ amenities, and we didn’t have to purchase much on our own. Also, plenty of beach items were provided. The property is also right on the beach! We did not rent a car, but the location was outstanding, especially for walks along the beach if you are not swimming in the ocean! Kalakaua avenue is only a couple of blocks away, and there are many restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The VRBO description of the property is also very detailed as well as accurate. We were greeted by Paul upon arrival, and he showed us the details of the condo, told us about nearby shopping and places to eat, and even walked us to a close-by ABC store! The only down note of our stay was one evening there was a power outage in the building that lasted over an hour, and we were not able to make contact with Paul at that time, so it would be good to know whom to contact in such a situation. Overall, we were most pleased with our visit, and would highly recommend this condo to anyone! If we are back for another visit to the Waikiki area, we would definitely stay here again!Response from Captain Cook Resorts

Wedding destination

There was plenty of room and mirrors for everyone. The view was amazing and we had a nice little surprise of the Friday night fireworks directly outside our room. We will definitely be back!

This was the best Hawaii trip ever!
Nakano-ku, Japan, September 6, 2024 August 2024に8泊滞在My spouse and I stayed in this room for 8 nights. Up until now, we had always stayed in hotels during our trips to Hawaii, and this was our first time staying in a condominium, so we were a bit anxious. However, those concerns quickly disappeared as soon as we saw the clean, spacious interior and the amazing view from the windows. We were deeply impressed by the blue ocean, beautiful sunsets, sparkling night views, and the fireworks at Hilton. We treated ourselves by buying slightly more luxurious steaks, eggs, ham, salad, and wine, cooking in the room, and enjoying our meals on the lanai with a beautiful view, making it feel like we were truly living in Hawaii.
The only minor issues were the weak water pressure in the shower and the smoke detector going off easily whenever we cooked. But even those small inconveniences were forgivable because the room was just that amazing. We can't imagine staying in a hotel again. We will definitely book this room again next year! We are also grateful to Paul, who kindly and brightly helped us in Japanese. “ARIGATO!”

We had a reserved parking space which was extremely worth it.

Wonderful Rental for our Vacation!

The rental was in a safe and convenient location, comfortable and clean, had all the amenities we needed, and had spectacular views of Diamond Head and the beach. Paul Tucker, the Property Manager, assisted us in check-in and was always available for any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again and recommend highly to friends and family!

Very nice, but busy location

However, the location of the building is right at a busy corner, which made getting in and out of the garage a bit stressful. A lot of things within walking distance but the area is very crowded with people and traffic. We really had no problems with the room, but I did have a couple questions, but the property owner was pretty unresponsive. He also wasn’t available for our checkin so someone who was not very familiar with the room did our checkin. No instructions at all on how to operate the tv (there’s like 4 different remotes in the room) and the WiFi name on the small information sheet was incorrect. Overall though our stay was nice.

Next time maybe consider renting the stall across the street. Paul, the property manager is off on Sunday's which is why Jean might not have been as familiar with the TV remotes. Great Location

Lots within walking distance.This is the 3rd time staying at Waikiki Shores, always great room and property manager service. Although this visit, with renovations happening... we had 2 power outages for several hours. We had to get ice to keep food in refrigerator cold thru the night and then again several hours the next day. There was no compensation for the inconvenience. Building kept switching back and forth between elevators that were working, (had to wait several minutes to get up or down or take the stairs). The condo itself was excellent, fully stocked, clean and ready for our stay. We will stay again after renovations are done!

It is true that the building itself is undergoing improvements and renovations of which we have a notice on all of our listings: BUILDING NOTICE: Elevator maintenance beginning Oct 31, 2022. Only 1 of the 2 elevators will be in service at a time while the other is being upgraded, for approximately 10–12 months. Also, lobby renovation project expected to begin May 2023. We understand how frustrating it may be when things don't go as planned and we apologize for the power outage. We are glad that your accepted our refund for days affected as compensation. We value you as a customer and hope you will keep us in mind for future vacation plans.

Perfect vacation rental!

We were met at the condo by the property manager when we arrived. The unit itself was clean and well well appointed with everything we needed during our stay. The location could not be beat! Steps away from the beach, shopping and restaurants. The view was absolutely amazing! Morning sunsets over Diamond Head in the morning and gorgeous sunsets over the ocean in the evening from the lanai. Who could ask for more? We will definitely seek out this property if our travels bring us back to Oahu.

Waking up to the sunrise was a true dream and the place was very spacious for our family of four. We were able to go shopping and sightseeing with ease and there were stores not too far from our place. We did not rent a car and that was never an issue with us as we were able to use public transportation with ease. The only thing which was my own fault was realizing there was no pool for our children to swim in. Mind you we did have the beach within steps of our stay but for our youngest child, she prefers the pool.

The decor of the home was gorgeous and the doors opening up to the porch were the highlights. Very safe. Beautiful property, would stay here again for sure. The service was great from check in to check out. Very pleased with our decision to stay, never wanted to leave the room.

Perfect location on Waikiki Beach

Great Condo - Fantastic View

Beautiful View on an uncrowded beach

He didn't stay very long so it allowed us to get unpacked and start enjoying our vacation. Bed was very comfortable and the AC units kept the unit comfortable when we didn't have the doors open. The best part is the easy walk to the main area of Waikiki. We would stay here again on our next trip to Waikiki

BEAUTIFUL VIEWS AND GREAT LOCATION

The condo was just as described - very clean, bed was comfortable, views were amazing over the city, beach, and park, especially at sunset. It is right on the beach and we easily walked to many nearby restaurants and shopping areas. We set out and explored a different part of Oahu each day and were able to drive to most any place within an hour or so depending on the traffic (which can be heavy at times on the highways especially if it's rush hour). I'd highly recommend #1408 and Captain Cook for your Hawaii vacation!
